thats where the crew bar is, bottom left of the triangle you've highlighted, they have music there and a bar, so presumably need to be included in all the usual bar/stage regs too.

Somerset Live article notes if no decision is made by 31st March it goes to the new unitary somerset council - maybe they are worried about this and trying to get it through now. The new council is the result of gerrymandering i imagine so probably fair to assume that tories don't benefit the festival's licensing!

That's true, and it's sad because even 20 years ago they were often very good, and played a crucial part in holding local government to account. Now there's pretty much no press coverage of local government which is a huge part of the reason it's gone to shit.

Couldn't agree more. Our local weekly was absolutely that, very much produced by the community, for the community. Now, like Somerset Live, the website is full of non-regional, out of date articles, clickbait, spam, targeted adverts, and 100s of "you'll be amazed what 'x' looks like now" type nonsense

The elections already happened and it's majority Lib Dem.

The council wards are bigger areas- that either goes in their favour because there's fewer local councillors who could intervene and derail it, or work against them because the councillors deciding it aren't local so don't understand it that well. 

It's surprisingly hard to find ward maps but it looks like it's gone from a mix of Tory/green to just Lib Dem where the festival is.
