Think my first time on a site of Neil's was 1999 or maybe 1998? First meetup was when Neil? 1998 or 1999? Whenever that was.

I think you're one of the earliest forum users I remember, from the old style forums

you've not been banned, the ip address you're using might have been blocked, if you reboot your router you'll probably get a different ip address that isn't blocked.

Yeah, it was on mobile, rebooted it and all worked fine again, 1st time that's happened

Cheers! I barely remember the forums before this style though.

Neil what was the old url? I can’t remember  but I wondered if the internet archive might have some of the old stuff for nostalgia purposes. For instance, I remember an old gif which was a 3D render of someone sitting at a Glasto campfire - it must have taken ages to do but seems to be lost forever.

Here is some nostalgia from early efests:

I’m liking the dancing efests man gif! Haven’t seen him in a while.

Don’t get too excited though as the posts are not archived.

Is the old banner still used?

I joined in 2009, the first year of taking a minibus from Glasgow and looking for others to join us. I remember Neil took the post down thinking it was a commercial post, I posted again making it clear it was at cost 🙂

since that year we`re taken minibuses  every time, on one occasion 3 minibuses, and 2 vans with everybody's gear- 52 of us in total.

I`ve made some good friends over the years doing this and at least 1 new person comes every year 🙂 so for that alone I thank the day I found Efest, keep up the good work Neil 🙂

Will again be offering places at the end of Jan.

Here is the 2000 site map from that archive!

Back when the Tipi field was just a tiny field. All looks quite quaint compared to now. Also makes you realise how insane the overcrowding was in 2000.

He he, I should have a few older ones somewhere.

I was just thinking the same thing.

It would appear that I have made an incredible 23.2K posts, Wow, that's an insane number. It does seem to back up the school of thought that I am full of shit.

Please form an orderly queue to confirm that.

Think he might be number 2. I told him that I was setting up new forums, and he got in and registered.

lol, readers should note I 'got in' at Neil's invitation to have a look at the new shiney thing (i think we were in the chat room at the time).

Naturally I took the opportunity to register my username - and Neil hasn't stopped grumbling about it ever since 😆

    • Mount Kimbie were really good. Great Sound, great crowd. A nice way to end this day.
    • Yeah what was up with Jai. Not great tbh. Would like to hear other opinions bc I didn't really like him
    • Ethel Cain and Brutus to bookend the day were my highlights. Had been listening to Brutus a bit over the last few weeks and had no clue the vocalist was the drummer, insane workload! Ethel was just other-worldly, and even managed to shut the yappers in the crowd up.   Lana was late, flat, but I was stood near the back and away from the masses and it was alright. Ocean Boulevard stood out, not least because her backing singers seemed to know how to perform better.    Even stuck around for most of The National and really enjoyed a band I've never got on board with before. Just so much good music happening!
