I still hope for Blur or a heavier band on Friday i.e. System of a Down. I doubf it will be Taylor Swift since they usually don´t have a pop act 2 days in a row.

I think we can pretty confidently rule SOAD out for now

Indeed. The problem is that there aren’t many rock/metal bands left that could solely headline a RW day this year. If it isn’t Blur (I’m afraid it won’t be), I ‘m trying to think…who else is left? I could see Slipknot being shared with Graspop or GnR.

Then the most probable scenario is having co-headliners like many times in the past. Something like AF-KoL (just a random example). Faith No More owe us one but no news yet.

Purely practical question: my group of friends and I are considering going for The Hive my space this year. One particular thing that looks nice to us is the "showers included" thing. Apparently this is the case in The Hive My Space, but I can't find any confirmation of it. Did any of you went for My Space and could confirm/deny this ?

They are included but the wait times can be crazy if you don't get up very early. It's a ticket system so you can sit around with some beers / food waiting, but obviously then you're missing music.

True! My hope for Blur is the fact that they co-headlined with Kol in 2013 and that Ben previously stated that Damon Albarn has always been on good terms with the Werchter organisation.

But we'll see what happens. At least I hope it's not yet another pop act.

Pretty boring bookings this year so far isn't it?

Nothing really fancy. But we'll need to wait a few months before taking any conclusions. When all festivals line-up are full, we'll be able to say if it's boring or if nothing's better was available! Well, it could still be boring at the end but maybe it's not their fault.

Think the Black Keys said they're doing the UK and Europe next year, so could they be a sub?

That would be a very nice name, they haven't been in EU in way too long. Sub for Muse maybe ? Or 3rd down on Sunday ? (that's probably a bit too optimistic)

Just to not get my hopes up too much, where did you hear about this ?

Was listening to their interview with Zane Lowe and Pat mentioned it on there.

He didn't say what time of year mind, just 'next year'.

Oh yeah they're still about. I remember having tickets to them in 2015 only for the show to be cancelled due to an injury the drummer sustained.

Obviously depends if they go down the festival route or just a straight-up arenas run. But might work for something like this.

    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
