Def Leppard are touring next year which includes festival dates too…

Bore off.
Well if it is Metallica/BMTH/Metallica and then Def Leppard I can either leave (which is unlikely as I’ll be going with a pal who believes music died in 1989) or I can go sleep early Sunday so I can prepare myself for the slog on Monday morning to take all the gear back to the car.
This is off course unless there is someone of interest elsewhere.

So where are we thinking the Def Leppard stadium show will be? Knebworth, Wembley Stadium or Grimsby Town's ground?

Honestly, I’m expecting places like Doncaster, Middlesbrough and Norwich. Maybe Hull, Huddersfield?

Probably Swansea or Cardiff /Anfield/Huddersfield/London Stadium

London Stadium is way too ambitious as that is where the real stadium bands play. MK stadium for the “London” date if their stadium tour is a real thing.

Selling out MK is still reasonably good going.

it's mental that Biffy headlined almost every festival on UK, including Download twice and people are saying that they "still have to proof themselves as worthy headliners"

Worth is the wrong wording, it's suitability. No one is saying they shouldn't headline any festival.

Slipknot

Rage against the machine

No info on any other bands.

No BMTH so I'd be inclined to leave this.

They're headlining APE again to 4k people who all got free tickets if they promised to buy some hotdogs and merch. 🤣 Seriously though even if all those above are available, Cupping is likely to save on costs by getting a cheaper headliner. I'd love it to be true but I fear you may get your wish this time round.

That Bring Me line up at APE was fucking amazing though. IDLES, Run The Jewels, While She Sleeps, Never Not Nothing/Black Futures, Architects, Nothing But Theives, Lotus Eater. It was the best £4.50 I've ever spent!

They've since sold out a 60,000+ arena tour so your obsession with that show doesn't need to be so burning 🙂

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
