Sony’s whole thing of using Spider-Man villains without being able to explicitly mention Spider-Man is so dumb, especially when he’s tied so directly to a lot of them. Could definitely see them using this film to get Holland into the Sonyverse tbh, some sort of film with Venom.

I’m not for one minute gonna start believing that Mephisto is in this film as well as six other villains PLUS the rest of the plot they need to cover, but with this undoubtedly leading directly in to Multiverse of Madness and us needing a villain there (Nightmare was rumoured ages ago but not heard much since), maybe… possibly…? Fuck it, Mephisto hype is back on!

John the Moth
What if? Ep3... Well! I found that much, much better than the first two. The story was much more interesting and coherent, not just a string of greatest hits loosely tied together like before* The framing of the visuals and artwork was wonderful in places, although I still can’t get on with the animation style, especially with the faces. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. *other opinions are available, and I’m happy that other folks enjoyed 1 and 2 more than I did.

There's a James Bond film, ready, just sat there somewhere, I don't know what to do with that info anymore.

Yeah, as is tradition with Bond, Craig’s tenure as him has been very up and down film to film. Never captured the magic of Casino Royale since imo, although hopefully we’re due a good one for his final outing.

That Blofeld plot twist of he’s actually Bond’s brother still pisses me off as its just so insulting to the audience. It’s like a bad soap when they can’t be arsed to write a new storyline. 11 minutes ago, FloorFiller said: Yeah, as is tradition with Bond, Craig’s tenure as him has been very up and down film to film. The Bloefeld thing was absolutely terrible. Love Christophe Waltz but his entire presence in the film was crap through no fault of his own. Just plain bad writing. And I think Craig hates everything that comes with being Bond (strenuous stunts, promo tour etc) rather than the character itself. Don’t think he’s gonna noticeably slog his way through this one or anything - it’s all down to the writing. Director is the same guy who directed the entire first season of True Detective which was some of the best TV of the decade so that gives me some hope. I’m going in to it with pretty muted and prolonged expectations anyway so hopefully it’ll be a pleasant surprise.

Boyle’s version sounded nuts. Bond wasn’t meant to be in most of it, he gets captured early on, his friends spend most of the film rescuing him, then he dies. Safe to think it might have upset the die hard fans.

First I’m hearing of this but that would’ve been pretty wild, although obviously not something the studio would ever go through with so not surprised he was let go. Bond can’t die - he just changes faces constantly.

The length didn't help, and Waltz is only ever as good as the film he's in imo, so he was grating. I like Lea Seydoux a lot, but she looks like Bond's daughter. Just checked the length of the new one, hoping a lesson had been learned, but it's come in at 2 hours 43 minutes!!! I've been expecting this film to be the end of OHMSS and into From Russia With Love, with Bond getting married and immediately widowed. Lea could survive a whole hour at this rate, if that's the direction they're even going in (why else drive off into the sunset with her at the end of the last one?) Gnomicide
I hated Spectre when I first saw it but watched it again fairly recently when it was on TV and it wasn't as bad as I'd remembered. jump
Shang Chi reviews are coming in now, it's sitting at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and alot of the reviews are saying it's good and it feels different to the other Marvel movies which can feel are being made on a conveyor belt as part of a batch. I can't wait!
