He mentioned crowds for Boxing Day Sales. Why are they even contemplating letting these happen?

Keep all the physical stores closed and let people shop online instead.

Fuck that anyway! Boxing day is for vegging out, watching sport, eating xmas chocolates & drinking rum!

Q: Will social distancing end once the vulnerable have been vaccinated?

Johnson says a few weeks ago he spoke about the cross-over point, when vaccination would allow measures to be eased.

We are “by no means there yet”, he says.

But he says that point will come before Easter.

There you go

So you’re trusting Boris Johnson... who told us everything would be “back to normal by Christmas”, and now look where we are.

Also no Numbers yet, I’m thinking 22k+ sadly

I know hes not trustworthy at all but there is other evidence that Easter is when they are going for ( timing of furlough ending, the parliamentary votes, the leaked vaccinating plans)

if it starts going up the next few days I see a U-turn on Christmas. pushing your record days in terms of hospital admissions, people in hospitals AND cases and still allowing a relaxation sounds mental to me

I understand what you’re saying but I’m just trying to say just because he says something doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen.

Im just taking this week by week. Over 100,000 vaccinated per week is a success story in itself. I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I’ll see where we are next week and so on and so on rather than trying to imagine what the circumstances will be like come Easter.

I hope so - the idea being that there will be a lot less plans to ruin if they've already sort of advised people against it today

Then those who HAVE to for mental health etc reasons can do so, but those of us who are only doing it because we can (or have family who are insisting on it because we can) will have a get out

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
