Abbathehorse
Having serious issues with these ads this evening. The site is unusable on my Android phone. Tried deleting data, deleting cache, restarting phone and using a different browser, but none have worked. And I know Gold Membership will disable the ads, but I can't even get as far as logging in without ending up in an endless spiral of junk ads, let a lone upgrade my membership/ Been able to log on temporarily using a laptop to post this, but hopefully something can be done to fix this? Multiple redirects + back button hijacking - felt like I was on a dodgy porn site not efests I had that when I looked on my phone where I've never bothered signing in. My phone actually said it was a malicious scam and wouldn't let me onto it.

"Get gold membership" is not a fix for this issue.

Ive never had issues with this ... so not sure if its because im gold or not ?

True that it does eliminate the problem but I am a gold member who couldn't get to a sign in screen on my phone and also I'm sure from Neil's point of view he'd want it fixed anyway as if that is your first experience of the site you'd be unlucky to shell out for gold membership. Yes, stopping the adverts by paying for gold membership or using an adblocker will stop any redirects to malware, but have you considered how many people just browse this forum and don't even have an account, or just casually visit the site time to time to check for rumours. These people are never going to have gold accounts and should still be able to use the site safely.

Losing my hair
I'm Gold but still get these spam ads - don't confuse them with the genuine ads Neil uses to finance the site. The only way that I can then use the site is to go in to Settings select the eFestivals app and then Force Stop. This allows normal use for a while. If there's another way I would appreciate info on how to do it.

admscott
Have been getting these redirects all day to the point where I couldn't use the site. Seems to stop when I switch to data, though.

wilko8
Unusable on my iPhone at the moment. Something flashes up as soon as I try to get to a page. On the plus side, pretty sure I've won a new Samsung somethingorother

gizmoman
Don't normally use my phone to access the site so I thought i'd have a check, sure enough got an immediate full screen pop up from "samsung-giveaway.co.uk". If people can't get on and use the site it's no wonder ad revenue is going down. This has been a recurring problem for years, other sites don't seem to suffer as much, the whack a mole approach to dealing with this doesn't seem to be effective. Anyway, apologies for the problems, they're (essentially) outside of my control unless I ditch ad income - and then the site dies anyway.
