  1. Roni Size - JazzWorld - 1998 (I think?).  Mud and rain and drum and bass.
  2. Orbital - NME - 1993 - my first real big 'live' dance act
  3. LCD Soundsystem - Other - 2016.

but memorable mentions to the ORB 93 on the NME stage.

And Orbital in 94.

So it must have been the Orb that I saw in 1993.  I definitely saw Orbital in 1994 then, must have swapped them over in my memory.

1. Alabama 3 - Glade 2015

That was a great set, seen them many times over the years since 97 and that was one of the best ever.

Public Service broadcasting in the Glade the next night was pretty special as well.

Other favourite non pyramid headliners include:

Flaming Lips in The Park 2017

Bobby Womack - West Holts 2013

QOTSA - Other 2011

Warpaint (Park 2017) - front centre for one of my favourite bands, headlining my favourite festival. What it's all about.

Queens of the Stone Age (Other 2011) - a big high to end my first Glastonbury on. Remember conga'ing out of the field with randoms after.

M83 (JP 2016) - only got into them during the build up to the festival, as I needed a Saturday headliner. Now one of my favourite bands. Chvrches were also excellent subbing the Other beforehand. One of my favourite nights on the farm.

It was like they asked me to write the setlist, absolutely brilliant. I agree one of the best shows I have ever seen them do.

4. Billy Bragg. Leftfield, 2016. I'd had him on my "might see" list every year and never got round to it - to the extent that I actually didn't bother to list him in 2016. But after feeling like I'd personally been kicked in the balls by 17 million people all day, I needed something to charge me up and fucking hell did he deliver that night. Never seen an atmosphere like that before and don't think I ever will again. Now he's on my must see list every single time.

Totally agree - absolutely electric atmosphere. I just can't put into words how it was. As someone on here said afterwards, if Billy had told us to march on London we would have.

Chic at West Holts was perfect.  Fantastic party atmosphere, tune after tune after tune.  Perfection

Massive Attack on the Other Stage in 2014 was mesmerising and left me completely speechless

John Hopkins on The Park in 2015 (but that's mainly because I had missed him at various festivals)

Those are the ones that stick out the most for me
