Mad Cool 2019

Does anybody have any idea with regards to transport from the festival this year?

I've emailed Mad Cool but had no response.

Booked an apartment with free cancellation near the Nuevos Ministerios station based on the Metro stopping there last year, but found somewhere we'd prefer to stay near Retiero Park which seems to be more central which we'd prefer.

If anybody has any ideas it would be appreciated.

Think there is a free shuttle back to the square and I'm only 5/10  min walk from there. I think.

Thanks for that, sorry for my ignorance which square is that?

Did you go last year? Seems shuttle buses were a nightmare, that why I booked near the metro station. Do you think they'll have sorted the shuttles from last year if that was the case.

Is there any chance they use the promotional event today in London to announce their remaining surprise(s). We are less than 8 weeks out from the opening of the festival, youd think they would have finalized the lineup by now

Literally giving tickets away on a roulette style game at the pop-up event in London today. ???

Must be struggling with sales and I'm not surprised, huge downgrade on last year.

Am I the only one who likes the Thursday lineup the most by far? It doesn't need anything else to me :)

Best single day of any festival, anywhere for me, and that's not counting the main headliner of whom I'm not a massive fan. Severely tempted by this.

Hi, guys!
What time do you think the welcome party will start and end?

Early. The party finish with underground works and the last train it's at 01.30 am

Well folks, it's only 37 days till M.C!!!! I personally can't wait as this will be my first festival abroad.

Since this threads dried up a little recently, I thought I'd get it going again. So I have 3 questions for you to answer:

1.) Which Band/Artist are you most looking forward to seeing?

2.) Which Band/Artist have you seen the most (previously) out of all the acts at MC 2019?

3.) Where are you travelling from and with how many others?

My answers are:

1.) The Smashing Pumpkins and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, as I've never seen either bands live and  I love both of their music so much!

2.) This will be my 4th time seeing Miles Kane

3.) I am travelling from a town in Scotland called Kilmarnock, with my brother, 2 cousins and a friend. (5 of us.) Drive from Kilmarnock to Glasgow airport, Glasgow Airport to London Heathrow, LHR to Madrid!!

ok your turn, let's goooooooooooo.......... ✌️

1.  A lot I'm looking forward to but I'd say the National and Bon Iver are the top and what originally got me to consider Mad Cool.

2. This is an odd one for me because this is the first festival I've been to that I've never seen any of the acts.  Only exception is for the Pre Party since I have seen Griz before once.

3. My wife and I are traveling from Canada.

    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
    • There’s going to be a Táncdalfesztivál thingy which is going to be some kind of retro party from the 60’s and 70’s with Hungarian acts. Not much info about it yet, but they mentioned it at the press conference when announced the 3 others.
