Eww. Please no Bastille as headliners, a penultimate spot would fit them better

Goldfrapp and John Cale subbed last year, though. It'd be a bit of a jump for this year to have a sub bigger than last one of last year's headliners. Same with the Ben Howard shouts.

He's just been announced for the BBC's Biggest Weekend thing, too. Man's about to be everywhere again and as such he definitely has to be a leading contender for this, now, however dreary that may be.

Surely Biggest Weekend must make him less likely? At least a headliner.

Why? Swansea is nowhere near Blythburgh.

Just isn't a very exclusive booking for a headliner and Melvin likes an exclusive. Cant see the headliners being at any other UK festivals but could be wrong.

FR (and other organisers) constantly claim 'exclusives' that are only 'exclusives' if you don't count the Big Weekend as a festival. Probably because it's near-impossible to get tickets - obviously, acts playing an event nobody can get tickets to isn't going to affect your demand.

that's because just about every band in the world is sat around waiting for their Big Weekend booking.

So I've been told by someone who books bands they all see that as the very best exposure they can get. So I guess Melvin's wants of exclusivity might fall second to that with many bands.

True but Latitude don't share many/any acts with Big Weekend looking at the past few years. Don't reckon its gonna be James Bay and hopefully not Snow Patrol either.

Are you on about James Bay? He’s at IOW and TRNSMT also (and probs more in the UK) so wouldn’t be an exclusive anyroad. He’s third down at either of those so I don’t think he’s gonna headline this.

You can’t compare Bastille or Ben Howard to Fleet Foxes really. They knew who they were booking when they booked Fleet Foxes, it appeals to a different audience and their popularity thru different metrics I suppose. If ‘well they’re bigger than Fleet Foxes’ is about to be a thing then it’s an open door.

Would love to see Kraftwerk return as they're around in July but they're in Belgium on the Saturday so doubtful.

The dream would be LCD Soundsystem or Sigur Ros. Think it will be:

Fri: Bastille + St Vincent

Sat: The Chemical Brothers + James Bay

Sun: Snow Patrol + George Ezra

Special guest: Grace Jones

That's because, in reality the first week of March is not long to go!

Shhhhh! Maybe if we cross our fingers it will be Friday or Saturday!

People are saying on here that acts playing Madcool Festival will most likely not be playing. It's only a 4 hour and 45 minute flight to Norwich Airport and a further 1 hour and 12 minute drive to Latitude Festival. I do reckon most acts playing their will have slots at Latitude Festival too!

Nobody has said that acts at Mad Cool will not play Latitude, however crossover has been limited in the past.

Might have just over read it. Just hope most acts from there do attend!

    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
