Also you can never go wrong with Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 I would also like to see Roy Ayers back because you can just never have enough Roy and I always feel (without being too morbid) like every time you see him it could be the last time you ever see him.... also can we have three legitimate West Holts music appropriate headliners not just an act the festival as a whole booked but had to parachute into or force onto WH as it was the only stage deemed available. This may be a controversial statement to some but I don't see the likes of Dizzee Rascal or Disclosure as west holts acts. Tbf Dizzee was moved to that slot after A Tribe Called Quest pulled out. CaledonianGonzo
So who's shoop do we need to badoop to guarantee that they book Salt-N-Pepa?

CaledonianGonzo
I don't see why it'd be a massive departure from previous bookings like Shaggy or even the J5....
zeppelin
I'd love WH to book The Cat Empire, that's been my dream for years now. 5 hours ago, eFestivals said: apparently not (I asked). Well this makes me feel better, I was convinced I'd been robbed of my chance to see them!
Amy Lawn
Dizzee called Glastonbury racist or something for never letting him headline and Glastonbury was like "Congratualtions, Mr Rascal! You're headlining Glastonbury Festival's West Holts stage"

The name was changed from Jazz/World to the non-genre-specific West Holts so they didn’t have to stick to the traditional sound all the time? CaledonianGonzo
It would be odd to have a pan-dimensional cross-functional bass, fusion and funky roots cathedral that completely ignored grime imho.
dentalplan
Yeah it's brilliant as it is. The festival's too big to have a Kuti son headlining such a massive stage against blockbuster acts as well.
CaledonianGonzo
Money saving idea. Book Kali Uchis and hopefully get Bootsy Collins thrown in for free:
dentalplan
Kali Uchis is the most satisfying name to say.

I don't agree with it from a programming perspective, but fair enough in terms of distributing the crowds. CaledonianGonzo
IIRC they also said the old name caused some acts to not want to play the stage. In which case changing it seems like a no brainer.

Memory Man
no issue with the stage name, i doubt anyone does. It still has a music policy attached to it though.
CaledonianGonzo
But it never just featured solely featured jazz or world artists, and that's still the case.
Quark
I'd still say that WH feels quite different from the others though. While you might say that some acts from the WH lineup could be on the Pyramid or even Other, they still "feel" like they belong on WH
