That kind of music would be awesome on the spider though, can you imagine industrial/metal stuff like nine inch nails, ministry, rammstein etc belting out as the spider does its thing setting the world on fire? Epic would about cover it.

Totally with you here. Would LOVE an industrial set!!!

It should always be 'heavy' industrial music at Arcadia. Stuff like Craig Charles didn't feel right. I don't want a smile on my face when I'm at Arcadia. I want pounding techno or relentless dnb.

Yeah when Annie Mac started playing Whitney Houston a couple of years ago it was a bit weird with the whole setting of the thing even if it was "in the moment" stuff.

you never been to a club night playing industrial stuff? stuff like the bands mentioned above, nine inch nails, ministry, white zombie and the like lend themselves very well to a club like soundtrack with mixing etc.

I have been (regularly) to a club night that played that kind of stuff, yeah, though they never mixed songs together.  I'd be interested to hear that if it was done well.

I suspect it was just a throwaway comment about how there are undoubtedly going to be some big moments.  Could be wrong, but as someone above mentioned, metal doesn't lend itself to mixing particularly well.

I'm sure Arcadia have hosted 'live' acts before - placed kind up and in front? If they want to add a larger stage, it wouldn't be hard to 'bolt it on' as it where.

they did, back when it had a stage in 2011, and before that when it was the afterburner

could arcadia be working with rammstein? could that be what the rammstein rumour actually means? that actually makes a lot of sense as that would be RIGHT up their street show wise....no no dont make me buy into this, it would be so awesome if true but I dont want to get sucked in

This isnt happening. I too was intrigued if this was it as it sounds cool-so I messaged them to cheekily ask upfront via fbook

This is what they said when shown the thread..

`Ha ha ha ha ha - do love a bit of speculation - all we were saying is that there will be a range of musical styles and some very heavy sets!!!`
(that still leaves the way open still for possibly some metal in terms of music with the spider etc on night  I guess)

And when I asked specifically about Rammstein-

`To be honest - we can say that that isn't happening - at least not this year but it's food for thought!!!!! See you in June!!!! xxx`

Food for thought line is a good one, hopefully given them an idea as I aggree that would be one hell of a collaboration!

Give over ! Arcadia is my favourite of the after hours areas, absolutely love the place, but my favourite ever DJ set there was Disclosure in 2014, absolutely nailed it. I get what you mean about pounding techno but if a Dj gets a house mix right in there with the right lasers and fire its pretty euphoric.

I'm personally hoping for Jamie XX's name on the Arcadia lineup this year.

Heavy metal on Arcadia. It truly amazes me what goes through some peoples' minds.

why is that so `out there` theres a lot of metal that would go quite well with the atmosphere arcadia creates esp some of the more industrial type stuff. it would fit very well as a sound track to the `mutoid` apocalypse themed stuff they have going on and the pyro etc. As others have said it would certainly fit the theme of the place far more then Craig Charles etc

Not saying itd take over the place but itd not be a shot in the dark that theyd maybe put on a session like that in some format one of the nights.

Ben

Well in the other thread it overhypes things! There was genuine hope that Led Zeppelin will especially reform for a non-Pyramid slot
