Who did you discover?

Casually strolling past John Peel on the way to somewhere else and just had to stop and listen to Nothing But Thieves. Never heard them before but we were thrilled at how excellent they were!

What did you guys discover for the first time?

Me girl took me to see a few acts that I would never have caught if I wasn't with her. I've never sought out folky type music but she loves it, so I now know and love The Portraits, Keston Cobblers Club, and Treacherous Orchestra.

Elsewhere, Bear's Den was lovely dreamy music (although not what I was going for at that time of day so didn't stay for the whole set - will definitely check them out again though). I read about The Human Pyramids in the programme and that was a wonderful way to start the day.

The Vryll Society for me, they played before the "secret" catfish & the bottlemen set at the BBC introducing stage on Friday which was a small bonus for me.

Very good young band from Liverpool, reminded me of an early verve.

on my third glastonbury finally got to see Mik Artistik and had a great time. Had went to bandstand on Wednesday but apparently they were stuck in the traffic with everyone else but got to see him in the T+C field on the Thursday.

Also loved the Portraits - such genuine nice caring people

Same!  Although I'd planned to see them, but they were so much better than I expected.  Also enjoyed ELO way more than I thought I would

My 2 random discoveries were both on the Friday.

Lounge Cate Ideals - swing band that I randomly saw in a tipee on the way to see Ezra Furman at the park. The singer has an amazing voice and the band were so obviously enjoying themselves it was infectious.

Maceo Plex - felt like Sigur Ros finished earlier than I expected and I didn't want to finish the night. Couldn't be bothered walking to the South East corner and was wandering around the Silver Hayes area trying to find something decent. Walked passed the gully and really enjoyed the sounds coming from there. Think I danced for pretty much full set, then next morning looked at the line up to work out who I'd been dancing too. Not that into dance music, but get the impression he's fairly well known, but for me it was a random discover.

I hung out backstage for a while with this band called true vibenation. They were so lovely and I have since listened to some of their music after I realised I saw some of their set. They're great, I can recommend a listen!!

Abandoman on sensation seekers. A comedy rap duo that come up with rhymes on the spot based on audience interactions. Our group's collective act of the weekend.

That's who I was going to say; were you there the day of Steve the security guard? Superbly enjoyable stuff.

The Eskies on before Travis on Croissant Neuf. Blooming marvellous.

Bears den, very chilled out and relaxing.

Ward Thomas on acoustic. Country music and sounded excellent.

Glad someone else was at the Ward Thomas gig. If you  enjoyed them you would have loved Applewood Road who played same stage on Sunday. Lovely harmonies and a wonderful cover of Losing My Religon

I made quite a few discoveries over at the Acoustic; Sam Lee, Blair Dunlop a few others. The best of the lot The Ben Miller Band at Avalon

No don't think so. I seen them Sunday. Only went over as one of us went to toilet. So fast, don't know how they do it.
