Just watched the video on the brexit compilation thread and there is reference to pj's rabbit hole set!!!!!!

Anyone see this?

When was it?

Fucking pissed i didn't even know it'd happened.

I'm guessing the reference is to Down the Rabbit Hole the Dutch festival she also played the same weekend, not a secret set in the Rabbit Hole up the Park.

Just re-watched this on i-player.  As a very long time PJ fan and never having seen her live I thought she was fantastic.  At the time I was slightly disappointed not to hear more of her old stuff, but everything she did play was perfect.  Feeling a chronological retrospective is in order for my next commute, do really love her new stuff too.  The combination of her stage presence, the music and the misty end of Sunday's light was bewitching.

Did you go see beck then?

It was awesome live russy. Much better than on record.

Yeah I saw beck. He was as good as expected, nothing special really, and the crowd were pretty lifeless.

And yeah I will defo try and catch her next time she tours.

I have always wanted to see PJ so despite a horrid clash with Beck I went to watch her.  I was disappointed with the lack of older material and felt disappointed.  However I watched her back when I got home and thought it was amazing! Maybe I wasn't in the right mood for it at the time or I am just odd!!

My number one this year too. I re-watched it on the iPlayer and it was as good as I remembered it. Interesting how the highlight isn't always who you expect it to be - thinking back of Robert Plant's amazing gig a few years back for example.

And why Wolverhampton when only playing four cities?

To be honest, I wonder this about a lot of tours - Wolverhampton has punched well above its weight when it comes to attracting acts for a long time now. My assumption has been that it's just the venues there offer better deals to acts than the equivilents in more logical / accesible places like Birmingham but I'd be interested if anyone has any knowledge of the subject.

Especially since last year I got fed up of the incomprehensible Wolverhampton road system & constant traffic jams and swore I'd never visit the city again.

Yeah it's really annoying as I'd actually be able to get to Birmingham for a Friday night show, but my only way of getting to Wolverhampton is an ~£60 train which I definitely can't afford. Annoying.

Does Wolverhampton have a really great venue? Because Blackpool has got some huge acts over the years - Radiohead, Blur, Killers, White Stripes etc, but all on the strength of the Empress Ballroom.

Don't think it's that.. Not familiar with the venue PJ Harvey is playing at, but most things tend to be at either the Civic or the Wulfrun Hall, both of which are acceptable venues but no better than you get in most places.

They're both very decent venues though and Brum was lacking one of that sort of size for years so Wolverhampton became the go-to Midlands venue for mid-sized bands. I think it's retained that on tradition more than anything now.

Must be. To be fair I saw Bon Iver in there and it wasn't too bad actually.

I presumed it was the Armadillo. I didn't think they did gigs at the SECC any more in Hydro Britain.

It's in SECC Hall 3. Such a weird choice

But it could be worse

saw her last night, first of two nites in NY. she was - and looked - amazing!! 90 minute set to an adoring crowd, ended up playing every track off of "Hope Six...", nothing at all off "Stories..." unfortunately.

phenomenal "Working For the Man" - which there's a video link to here...watch it!
