Daytime Snooze-spots

Hi all

I absolutely smashed it DJing a wedding and downing loads of cider on saturday, to the point where the sight of booze still does not appeal to me.

At the same time my other half danced and drank til 3 in t' morning and caught some kind of cold from someone at a different party.

My question is, if we're still as achey and shattered as we are today, where's the best place at the fest for a snooze. preferably out of the sun, ideally out of the rain too (not that it'll rain at all)...

in the past I've ended up getting a few hours in the cabaret tent which is nice and dark, but can also get a bit busy and potentially embarrassing if any comedians notice any snoring I'm doing.

Any other suggestions of snooze-spots?

cheers!

Since it looks like it's going to be cloudy and not rain (much), I'd suggest heading up to the hill above The Park and lying on the ground.  I think there are also some hammocks round there, but can't remember if they're covered.  They'll probably be in use though.

I had a lovely sleep in the sacred space in 2013.  Fell asleep in the sun, managed about 1 hour then was woken by spits of rain (might have been around 3 or 4ish).  We managed to find cover on the fringe of the Avalon Cafe as the rain became heavier and discovered Mik Artistik.  What an afternoon!

Yeah, I don't get why you bother with anywhere else if your tent is an option!

Because you get to drift off to something enjoyable and then wake up and there is something else to engage your eyes.

Being in your own tent is extremely boring!

A few years back there was actual cushion mattress beds in Heaven you could sleep in! People dressed as Angels were around and there was a nice bar inside too. Did it on Sunday afternoon when I was at a low and it gave me a new lease of life!

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
