Christine & the Queens vs. Skepta

C&TQ was an unheard until last night when I'm sitting on the couch with the Mrs and she came on Graham Norton's show. It was good enough to distract me from my obsessive weather browsing and now I'm listening to her album on the big stereo.

I'm going to try and fit her show in. I reckon it could be quite special.

Saw Christine and the Queens on Saturday. Right up the front. Loved it even though it was torrential rain.  She put on a fantastic show. Singing and dancing so good and talked in-between tracks. She was very likeable, I think she will go far

Saw Skepta, he absolutely nailed it. Felt like that should be the headline-grabbing moment of the festival rather than me old man's a dustman on Saturday night. Then again, I'm seeing Christine at Latitude, so this choice you all agonised over was never an issue for me (apart from she'll definitely clash at Latitude, because they're determined to put all the good acts on at once).

Tough cal this, wasn't it. I went with Skepta, and I loved it, but having watched C&TQ on the Iplayer that looked pretty damn good too. No losers with this one, fortunately.

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
