I'll be taking my Carter USM 'Final Comedown' T-Shirt as well as my Kingmaker 'Eat Yourself Whole' long sleeve.

Yep. Will be my final comedown I'll be taking

Majority of my t-shirts that I take aren't always band t shirts so I'll spare the details!

I do however like to announce a squad of around 16 in the initial long list and gradually cut this down over the coming weeks letting them down gently until releasing the final roster on the Tuesday of Glasto week.

This isn't just for t-shirts and apllies to jackets and jumpers also! Incredibly sad but keeps me sane during the build up.

Same here. I have a mix of old favourites that have been to each Glastonbury (only been since 2011, bit of a tradition, like drinking coffee from the eFest mug on T day), couple of band t shirts, Hawaiian shirts, an eFest number, and one with my avatar for a/the meet.  I'm not peaking too early, and will sort the exact running order out on the Monday/Tuesday beforehand. I've more important things to do, like shortlist cider varieties from 25 to 2-3.

I've got a collection of a least 100 t-shirts and unfortunately/fortunately due to massive weight loss they no longer fit so I will mainly be wearing boring generic t-shirts till I can build up my collection again, bugger :)

I went to T in the Park 20 years ago specifically to see Pulp, came home in a Radiohead t shirt and life was never the same again.  I wore it to my first Glasto ('03) and I think I'll maybe dig it out again this year.

I too went to t in the park 96 and came back a changed person. I genuinely had no idea that that many people loved radiohead and was frozen to the spot, mouth open for the entire set as a result. That set trumped them at Glasto 97 and 2003 in my opinion.  A truly glorious day.

What t shirt did you buy that day?

Working on the recycling crew I tend to have a change of clothes for every day as can get pretty mucky/sweaty doing the work and will be there before gates open so need a few more t-shirts

Initial thoughts are:

  • Some old battered ones for work
  • Past Glastonbury t-shirts
  • Beautiful Days
  • Croissant Neuf Summer Party
  • Wedding Present
  • Pixies
  • Belle & Sebastian
  • Carter USM
  • Primal Scream
  • Depeche Mode
  • Space Ibiza
  • Back to Basics

The last one will probably be the only day specific one for when they are doing the Glade takeover on the Thursday

What Depeche Mode t shirt do you have? I can never find a good one.

edit - I have a quality Personal Jesus one. It is on it's last legs though.

A horrible one!  Seriously, I;'ve never liked it.  It was the only 'lady fit' one they had.  It might even be a rarity cos i can't find a Google image of it.  It's grey and has an outline of a head.

I feel like I need to up my tshirt game. My usual most-worn at festivals are a DFA-1979 one, who the fuck is Arcade Fire, and a nice Adventure Time mash up of Unknown Pleasures:

That needs posting on the Joy Division, New Order and Electronic facebook group. They would be absolutely outraged

As a t-shirt obsessive, (a hugely enjoyable) part of my festival preparation ritual involves the annual process of deciding which of my t-shirts will make the squad for the summer tournament.

I usually start a thread like this to ask if like-minded casual attire junkies spend similar, somewhat trivial periods of time pondering over such minutiae.

So, here is the 2016 thread!

Share your t-shirt plans, crazy kids

Well, we're now sorted for the efests meet...

I like to be current and up with the kids, but don't particularly like wearing t-shirts of bands I'm seeing - so I'm going for this. I'll be rocking the Pilton Palais.

If that's you wearing it, you're a mighty fine figure of a man. :)

Despite not fulfilling my very strict requirements for t-shirts, that is absolutely superb!

:)

Ben

Well, it might not quite fulfill your criteria for a t-shirt, but I bet you'd wear one! :)

However, I think our spares really ought to go to the two who inspired it - @drchickenburger and @Nobody Interesting, don't you?

I bought this in homage to the great man, I ordered an XL but when It came, I tried it on it was skin tight. (I didn't realise it said 'made to fit' ) I'm not exactly muscley so it makes me look like I have a set of tits. They didn't do any other larger size so I kept it anyway for when I lose the beer belly. Might wear it underneath another top and get my moobs out during his screening. My other tees are generic summery ones.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
