I think the inflating method is pretty innovative, but I won't be spending 56 quid on something that seems best suited to lounging around at the Pyramid.

I do need something good for actual sleeping at night, but I don't think this is it.

Agree about Thermarest. Expensive but really comfy.

Maybe one of the larger outdoor stores.  Blacks or Millets, maybe....

(I'm not really sure what the English equivalent of places like Tisos and Nevisport are... )

There are videos on youtube of people trying to inflate them, and it doesn't actually seem that easy unless its windy!

Go for tried and tested.  A decent inflatable double airbed with a good stirrup pump to blow it up.  That little bit of extra effort on arrival will pay dividends over the week.

When I drive to festivals/camp sites now I go for a proper camp bed. Its lovely. Sadly travelling on the coach its right out.

I saw this a few months ago but the price put me right off. Otherwise I'd be more than happy to sleep on that instead of carrying a heavy airbed

It looks too big for a tent. And I sleep on my back, both sides and face down during the course of a night. Try doing that in a sleeping bag on one of these.

I once had the great misfortune of spending a few nights sleeping in a hammock. This brings back those memories. Maybe ok for an afternoon snooze, but not good for the back over the course of a night.

Thanks, will have a look at those   We need something other than a standard double airbed, as it turns out that the sleeping areas in our family Quechua pop-up tent aren't really big enough for a double airbed!  Or not without a lot of touching the sides, which we're definitely not risking.  Last time we camped, we had to use the middle 'living room' section to sleep in, which was a right pain - and also rather chilly...
