If you watch these and feel that Glastonbury has lost it there is probably no helping you, to be honest.

I've been a bit stressed the last few days.  I've just watched these and the feeling of happiness and calm I have now is awesome. Thanks for posting.

The festival has changed and will continue to change but the feelings I get when I'm there don't change.  I can't wait.

25 or 30 years ago, if you lost your wallet , you would be wasting your time going to Lost Property to try to find it. Now, you would probably be reunited with it. That is a large part of what I'd call The Glastonbury Spirit.

Got a few Glastonburys under my belt and I know that the place still has soul, and a lovely one at that.

Not true (in the case of my ex, anyhow).

It was handed in and she got it back ... tho light of the cash that had been in it. ;)

I think the whole area is a very special place, the atmosphere in Glastonbury town can be magical and there is a general feeling of loveliness all year round, pilgrims have been finding their way to Glastonbury for a very long time and I like to think that us festival goers are just carrying on the tradition.

It was nice before I realised the horrific results of Chinese lanterns. So beautiful without any context.

2010 was my first year and I was amazed at how beautiful the sky looked with the Chinese lanterns. I'm the same as you though - now I know the risks, I wont go near one and have discouraged friends/family using them.

Is 'the spirit of Glastonbury' not just a reflection of contemporary, 'alternative culture'? If that's the case, the festival is bound to evolve over time, as does 'alternative culture'.

Very true. Is there as much alternative culture though these days? And / or is Glastonbury as 'alternative'?

Just asking the question.

We have some people coming this year who I couldn't in a million years have imagined coming with us even 10 years ago.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
