Radiohead touring in 2016

just to add to the speculation, I've just noticed this on the Roundhouse website - apologies if this has been spotted earlier:

'Radiohead will play a series of live shows later this year which, together with the festival dates already announced and a few more festival dates to follow, will complete their touring schedule for 2016.'

If people moan about RH playing but not headlining because it isn't a proper set and have a ticket to see them at Roundhouse seriously fuck you. Some of us were not lucky enough to get Roundhouse tickets to see our favourite band.

They must have added the word 'headline' for some reason. You wouldn't add extra words to the announcement like that unless there was something to it.

Yep, that's my thinking.

Then again, it might just be me looking for validation for what I've heard.

I think this is the most likely. I.e the announce it but crucially say they are only playing the new album.

Calm the rage. I got Roundhouse tickets, but Radiohead playing 14 or so songs with a stage set up not entirely matched up, with many of the front section of the crowd not entirely into it is definitely nowhere near the full experience. 

There'll be ample opportunity to get tickets for their arena shows which they'll almost certainly play next year, and provided you get there early and down the front, it would be much, much better.

Here here. I'm seeing them at NOS Alive but even then i'll take any Radiohead slot at Glastonbury and be incredibly grateful and excited.

Good spot, I hadn't seen that. They could be referring to the US festival dates but it's still info pointing in the right direction.

Problem with that is they couldn't play a smaller stage because too many people would still turn up, even if they are playing the new album. But by the same token it would be a weird atmosphere if they played the Pyramid stage and only played the new album because you'd have thousands of people wanting to hear their older material.

I reckon they would do 4-6 songs off the new album and then 6 or so older songs, depending on how long they get. I still don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that they get a 90 minute set even though they are technically a sub headliner.

Assuming a sub set is what? 12 songs? I'd guess 3 off the new album leaving 9 to play with. They'll want a few big crowd pleasers and one or two for the fans so my guess. In no particular order:

I'm definitely with Neil on this one, the use of 'headline' was definitely odd.  I've just clutched way too many straws so I didn't say anything .

On a side note, didn't Neil say he knows someone who has seen a poster or a bit of the line-up and Radiohead weren't on it? I'm hoping I've just made that up and Joey T's friend is correct!!

to be fair The Libertines did a sub set  with a new album and they played a pretty good greatest hits set so there's no reason why Radiohead couldn't do the same

Last tour they played the shit out of ones you mightn't expect - The Gloaming, Myxomatosis, the title track off Kid A...

So who knows really. The Gloaming is pretty likely to make the cut. There There, EEIRP, Idioteque always get played. Paranoid Android usually gets played. Reckoner and Nude will likely stay in the set. Lotus Flower too I would've thought.

'Headline shows' is common term for 'own gigs', particularly in the US - distinguishing them from festival/support slots.
