In fairness didn't they have WhatsApp groups for the secret resales?

Withholding info about potential tickets is worse than a RH secret set surely.

Well no, because that was to notify people immediately of an open sale, being alerted to hundreds of other people on their page monitors and whatever. This would be like someone who runs a huge resale help thing being tipped off about a resale and notifying some people ahead/instead of others.

Why? What happened on that?

If it was the same as last year then any time anyone said anything that wasn't notifying people of tickets being on sale they'd be met with a load of angry responses.

I kind of understand it because it's annoying enough having to be on constant alert for the secret sale without having loads of false alarms, but they did seem a little too angry about it all, rather than just asking people to stop.

As I say, that's what it was like last year; not sure about this year.

I have to say, I'm astounded you're arguing the toss with me.

Oh that actually makes sense and is kinda underwhelming. I thought people were legit angry at others for being free and getting their resale tickets or something.

    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
