Thought I'd suggest a tip post, probably been done before.

Any way can I suggest to anyone taking a trolley, please make sure you check your nuts, bolts, pins ect. I've seen many wheels fall off and the people struggle, it also slows the q down, maybe try use locking nuts, washers springs, lock tight( Looks like red nail varnish), or drill ur axel and put a split pin in, or make sure existing pins are in properly, don't over load your bearings too otherwise they will just shatter

I've done a dry run, with a loaded trolley.

Not too thrilled with a slight wobble on one wheel, but decided to chance it as planning on two trips on this one. Have a back-up too.

Did a bearing rather annoy you today? Sometimes it is just their time.

Gaffer tape and bin bags.

Useful individually and combine well if muddy we tape a couple a bin bags to the floor in the tent door to gather all the mud.

Bin bags - for many reasons. The most tragic was a poor bloke on the very wet Wednesday morning of 2011. He had one of those two-wheeled trollies loaded up with 6/7 big cases of beer and cider. The rain had obviously soaked through the cardboard and he was left chasing dozens of tinnies around the place but had no way then of getting them back on the trolley in any way that would have made it possible to get them to his tent. Really wanted to help but we were struggling through the mud with our own stuff. And, if I'm honest, laughing too much to be of any use.

take gaffa tape / duck tape to fix anything or everything.

Take plenty of money or bank card with money access on it, if all goes wrong buy a new tent, more booze anything you need you can buy there, obviously cheaper if you take it with you but if it does all go wrong dont give up!

Bungees to fix things on your trolley.

Possibly the most useful little thing to take is a headlight to help find your way without tripping over the guy ropes at night.

No haha, just had a flash back from last year, it was in the snaking barriers, I was against the barriers and 2 sets of people's wheels came off infront off me, must have lost a 100 places, and lost my mates for a bit, tried to go round em put it was sheer traffic, eventually got passed but they were on the inside and I was taking a wide birth so as it snaked I was stuck behind again,lol

Not wanting to gloat, but anyone with access to a wheelbarrow, pallet, a couple of rachet straps, and some extra bits of timber to fix to the outside as a frame. Managed to transport a shit load of gear to and from car and camping spot the last couple of years... Would probably have been a struggle if it had been raining etc and shitty underfoot, but worked a treat in the dry.

This is an easy mistake to make, & the best advice. Cardboard crates fall to bits even without rain after a mile hike. If the weather turns it's game over. I gaffer the shit out of them before set off

If you ever do go back to your car, some people do. Take anything you've worked out you don't need or have worn or used back with you.

this was top cause of death in trolleys we found last year in extensive wanderings of pennards/park home/dairy on monday - shattered from too much load - folk might be testing on nice level pavement but they handle a LOT less on rough terrain

2nd top death was the nuts holding the wheel parts together working loose. worth an extra tighten before use to casually tight then another 1/6th turn wouldn't trust the nuts beyond that

Also bin bags and waterproofing - getting wet can ruin your day or festival, unless the forecast is incredible always be prepared - you too can be the ones in hysterics as everyone scatters like roaches. love the beer cans story

This advive was most up voted post last year so I'll repeat it, sit with your feet out of the tent, put your wellied feet inside the bin bag, grip onto your welly through the bag, pull it off [fnar fnar] then repeat. Then simply wrap the bag over the top of your wellies, it stops them bringing mud into the tent.
