ps to the OP thank you for letting us know, given that there wasn't a thread declaring it that would have looked like brand new information and if we hadn't already know you would have been swimming in up votes

I don't think doing a search would have even helped you

So thanks for trying :)

Yep I'm on here all the time and this thread is the first I'd heard of it

TBH this thread should of been started sooner!

A lot of people knew but it had been lost in the announcement/headliners threads and only the hardcore keep up with them.[/quote

Yeah I tend to ignore massive threads like the 'self confirmed' one because they're hard to keep up with

Harsh folks - I'm a regular and not sure I'd seen that it had been neatly confirmed. Last I knew was some kind of announcement around then that's it

Yep, I stopped reading the Announcement thread when the topic moved on to types of bread. Learned about the lineup date from this thread.

Some of the people behaving like w*nkers here will probably pop up offering lectures about the Glastonbury spirit later. Might be worth pausing to think about how you'd like this forum to be.

Jesus, people are massively overreacting to a couple of jokey replies about the OP being slow to post this news. How sensitive do you have to be?

Chill out Will, I think you might be taking the responses too seriously.

    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
    • Dug into Milkweed some more and this was a brilliant suggestion. Thank you 🙂   This will come as no surprise, but I have been told that there are some band substitutions to come.
    • Yeah, I think it's important to differentiate between a stage that's just a platform for the artist to walk on (which can be assembled fairly quickly and without too much difficulty), and the custom staging that you get in big productions where there's a whole world underneath.   Using the Eras tour as an example the stage extending out into the stadium field has all sorts - lifts that go up or down - down most importantly as this allows performers to enter or to leave the stage as needed. There's passageways to get from one part of the stage to another. There's what are effectively dressing rooms set aside for costume changes. There's spare instruments (and techs to look after them) so if something goes wrong above they can be swapped out in the space of seconds. There's even a track and dolly system running the full length of the stage so that Taylor can be moved from one end to the other faster than she'd be able to walk.   I don't know the specifics of the Madonna tour to the same degree but my understanding is that a lot of the same techniques are used.
