Will Young

This one could have amusing repercussions for myself. Ever since he first appeared on Pop Idol I've had people say that I look like him. I've had loads of people ask for photos and autographs. I've had photographers follow me around the London underground. I've even had my picture in Heat Magazine twice in their 'Spotted' section where someone's taken a photo of me and they've believe it was Will Young. I've also managed to blag my fair share of free drinks by going along with it when people think I'm him. The best occasion being a time in Spain when the management staff placed a bottle of vodka on my groups table in exchange for one photo.

If he does appear this year then I will certainly be trying my luck at getting backstage. For what it's worth I don't think I look anything like him, but I've had over ten years of it now so may as well run with it.

I'd want to be a celeb lookalike in order to get lucky with the ladies. I don't think being a Will Young lookalike would have that effect...

lol

Not sure if you realise but it was posted here on the Self Confirmed thread, using a different link, at about the same time, possibly before, it went on the Facebook group. So not clear that anyone's nicked anything without credit.

why would anyone think they deserve a credit for being able to read a webpage anyway?

The amusing thing is that that is the second thing people always say to me;

Them: "You look just like Will Young"

Me; "Thanks?"

Them: "Are you gay?"

Every time. Without fail.

Why would anyone be reading Will Young related web pages anyway?

I think he's got a good voice personally, out of all the winners of those TV talent contest he's still got the best voice, or at least Male voice.

Yeah, I'd probably think you were Will Young if I saw you at the fest and knew Will Young was playing somewhere.

Following this, I wonder if anyone will go up to Will Young and ask if he's jamiemaher from the efests forum? :)

That would be glorious.

I still maintain I don't look like him, this is a recent photo of myself that I have to hand (though it's not great). 10454464_635474284948_253780244123540304

Clever ploy to get a slot yourself. Like it. Better warm up those vocal chords! :sarcastic:

Someone who can stand Will Young's music should go to the set with a "We love jamiemaher" card :P

I'm not a Will Young fan, but I recommend his most recent single. When I first heard it I thought it must be an old Northern Soul song I hadn't come across. Really cool track.

I don't know what it's called, but it's worth a listen.

same with his new song, heard it the other day instantly liked it, and I was quite shock to hear it was Will Young

Think he goes to the festival most years - quite often see him in the Greenfields area - so wouldn't be a surprise if he played a set somewhere.

Don't like his music much but he seems a decent bloke whose survived the reality tv show experience quite well

Is the link posted earlier the only source? Just that it was willyoung.co.uk/gigs/.... which doesn't fit into his websites directories. I know it's not much of a job to create a new directory but if I was the webmaster I'd have posted the info in the already there, with links from homepage, willyoung.co.uk/live/... or willyoung.co.uk/news...

Just saying, probably means nowt.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
