Are their any decent chicken vendors at Glastonbury?

I vaguely remember a jerk chicken place in Shangri La a few years back, I know as it was all we talked about the next morning, but that's all changed down there now.

I tend to avoid chicken to avoid the risk of getting ill &/or the runs.

There's like 5 Jamaican BBQ places cooking out of oil drum grills. It's all banging

Yep really good and they can make it super spicy if you ask them. Great hangover food. More importantly its all done from scratch.

I know most people serve with a smile there but the people running these places always seem like there having there own mini party and just happen to be serving some fine ass chicken.

I've managed to visit a couple of these places a day while there and always end up spending a mint but never feel ripped off because there generally big bits (I'm talking at least 1/4 if 1/3 chickens)

I take my chicken very seriously. Roll on the veritable feast that is Glastonbury!

To be fair Nando's IS better than at least 1/3 of the food at Glastonbury.

True that!

Not getting the hate tbh, its decent enough grub when you are out and about and don't want a full sit down meal.

They had a Nando's at Bestival last year, would have gone for it but the queue was massive everytime I went. Good setup actually though. Was like of the more livelier stalls at Glastonbury.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing one stall there, we all like pie minster and I've seen a fair few say Square Pie gets a pass and their in alot of the same shopping centres as a Nandos...

Does it not come Peri Peri sauce? :P

I don't mind a few hairs when munching on a bird.

The Roaming Rotisserie in Williams Green is pretty decent!

Really is one of the best things about the festival!

Fuck, I'm hungry now, you bastard.

I'm quite interested in the Nando's phenomenon. Obviously we all know it's average food so why so much love for it? Brilliant marketing or just lucky?

As a socioeconomic phenomenon, maybe it's buying space in 'shopping malls' and providing consistency across all the chains, so young and trendy people (my benchmark is less than 47 years old) see a familiar site and get sucked in to a vacuum? I see these places at White Rose, Meadowhall, Leeds, 'Ikea' in Leeds. I'd prefer (much) better quality but I've eaten there (the shame, but I blame my step-kids, who fortunately get their dad to take them more often), but what grates for me is the faux heritage of Guiseppe coming over from the old country with his family recipe and preserving the old ways, when it's patently made in South Kirkby and shipped in. Obviously that's not Guiseppe in Nando's btw.....

And no, I want an accompaniment, not fucking sides.

Do any of you put mayo on your chicken? If so, let me know so I can stick you on the ignore list for the rest of your life.

Mayo is ignorant shite. On anything. Apart from a very small bit on a burger bun.

Its the main ingredient of coleslaw. Which is an invention of satan, in one of his more ignorant moods.

I think everyone should name everything they think is overrated and let chaos ensue.

Buzzfeed is incredibly over rated and one of the worst websites going. Every time I read that site I just feel dumb.

I can't stand buzzfeed. It recently ran an article entitled, '47 things you've done if you've lived in Wrexham.' Half of which I haven't done and the cheesy memes pissed me off. It's click bate for the idiotic.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂

Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
