The festivals that have PR teams will of course try and get maximum impact with their announcements tho there's also other considerations in the mix. Glastonbury doesn't have a PR team and isn't within the same PR-world loop. It does what it does when suits it or when they're pushed into it (some acts are more eager to be announced than others).

Yeah Glasto's release 'schedule' does seem a lot more haphazard than others. I guess T/V/R&L/IOW work around each other's plans and just hope that Michael Eavis doesnlt get bored and blab on one of their announcement days.

I think they do - Lionel Richie at Glastonbury and Fleetwood Mac at IOW were either on the same day, or certainly less than 24 hours apart.

Different days, but yes Glasto not playing the same game as the others probably runs it close at times.

I'm intrigued how the coverage will work with BBC three, it's always online, but the extra attention having it on tv builds up artists and adds prestige to Glastonbury and the UK music scene, BBC 2 would be worth moving all the coverage to there and online of course.

I'd guess they'll move some back to the live channels, but I'd also guess that the amount of live coverage will have to be reduced from previous years because there's got fewer channels.

Mind you, Glastonbury is such a cultural icon nowadays that it could fit on BBC 4, I guess.

Roses up against lcd would be a nightmare for me.

Also....Adele is a great singer. Doesn't mean she'd make a great headline act. In fact I think it could be a bit much for her. Her nerves are shocking. Could even see that at Brits last night.

Roses would be special for me at least. Adele is granny's favourite. Not exciting in slightest despite her talent.
