No, the Skittles dissolve. No need for the dishwasher. The more often you shake the bottle the quicker they go.

Just drop the Skittles in the bottle, I've usually gone with 100 per half bottle of vodka. Strawberry and blackcurrant cab go overnight, lime takes a couple of days. You then need to strain the liquid through coffee filter or muslin as the residue left from the sweets forms a scum on top of the brew.

If you drink Strongbow...

20 x 440ml Strongbows are £10 in Morrisons at the moment! (Plus Halifax give you 10% back with their Cashback Reward thing at the moment if you enable it).

Used to drink strongbow at the festival but found by Saturday / Sunday it was so acidic it made my throat hurt.

Lesson to you all.

Thatchers gold however doesn't do this.

The all time favourite premixed festival drink.... Vimto and Vodka - great when cold or warm or hot

1part vodka, (cheapest strongest one possible)

1part vimto cordial, (sugar free is is ok)

2 parts lemonade (cloudy - no sugar added is my favourate)

(eg 2tre bottle has 500ml vodka, 500ml cordial, 1ltre lemonade)

and the 2nd best premixed festi drink ..... Captain Morgan spiced rum and coke

strong mix is ..

1part Spiced Rum

3 parts coke (zero)

eg (2tre bottle has 500ml of rum and 1.5 ltre of coke)

Great shout that is mate with the vodka vimto. I'm sold!

Does anyone happen to have the link that was on this forum a few months back - it was a spreadsheet for costs of booze in different shops? Was superb!

Edit - Found it! Looks like I bookmarked it. Crack's a hell of a drug. Very moreish.

That chart is brilliant.

I'm thinking cans of ale, boxes of cider, and straight whisky.....

Anyone any reason to talk me out of any of these? Or a better recommendation?

I'm similar - bottle of Jim Beam Bourbon, few packs of pale ale, few packs of ciders, box/bag of wine. Potentially omitting one of these (or adding to it) for the vimto-vodka-lemonade thing someone's mentioned!

Also - my bro works in a lab, he collects these mini polystyrene boxes and uses them as mini fridges. I shit you not...half filled one with ice and whacked a load of cans in, it was still very cold two days later. Definitely taking one with me as I'm dreaming about bourbon on the rocks as soon as the tent is up and for the next couple of days. With a special cigarette of course.

Anyone that likes Malibu or Amaretto - Sainsbury's do their own versions of these, the Amaretto is a bit sweeter but is a perfect substitute at half the price of Disaronno as is their 'Sunset Reef' Malibu. Saved my gf a few squid already.

I'll be bringing a pint bottle of JD, JD honey, and Gin and 6 cans of tonic to chill down (I tend to do half a can of tonic for a G+T so that makes 12 G+T's) and I intend to drink the JD and JD honey straight, should my liver not be hilariously fucked by then

Awful stuff after a couple of days, i tend to take one or two of these; westons/olde english/old rosie.

They work for me but its down to personal preference i guess

Aldi and Asda's own amaretto is pretty decent too. About £7 each.

I'm going to rustle one of these up for some festival breakfast, keeping in the spirit

Happy Days. Am baking cakes tonight for Bearded Theory the weekend, which I had the time to do this. Going for boozy cookies, rice crispie cakes and Brownies... Might try this G&T one for Glasto though. Ace find

I'd guess the alcohol evaporates in the oven?

It probably tastes really good tho.

You incorporate some gin the in glaze and pop a few holes in the cake and it'll soak it back up, I certainly like the look of it, worth a bash
