I might take spiced rum with me because it's on the level with vodka in the hangover stakes, but what can I mix it with? I usually use ginger ale at home, but that might not be so readily available there. I can't drink a lot of caffeine drinks, so I can have coke for only one drink in a space of a few hours.

Any ideas? Just stick to vodka?

Spices rum, sailor jerrys in particular goes very well with coke - tastes just like cola cubes ;). Could try and get caffine free coke?

Did someone mention on here red wine and coca cola? Watching come dine with me and its popped up on here, traditional hungarian drink apparently. God i love come dine with me

Red wine and red bull is our daytime festival juice. About 2/3 red wine to 1/3 red bull. Tastes like fizzy vimto, you don't get totally and immediately leathered like on just red wine and it gives you wings.

Downside is too much and you get the red bull shakes at night.

Not going too take and lager, cider or anything in cans this year, fed up of the bad back from carrying it around.

Will be having a pint from the closest bar too me on site.

For the evenings I am getting three litres of Gin to do half litre mixes in lemonade bottles with lemonade and some sort of juice and a bottle of Souther Comfort.

this

nice and easy

spirit of choice with some sort of juice

buy a pint when/if needed but always have enough spirit juice for the day/evening :)

I'm going by coach so will have no room for mixers and I doubt I'd find it there.

Depends what you're looking for. You can buy coke, lemonade (and other fizzy drinx) as well as juice from the 'shops'. Bit more expensive but worth it to save your back!!

Hello knowledgeable efest folk...

Does anyone know anywhere wheresoever I could get pale ale or blonde beer in a can?? Bit of a long shot. Can't stand Carling, Fosters and that crap, but love pale ales and Belgian beers. Pretty impossible getting it in cans though. Much more of a bourbon man and other spirits!

Oh definitely. That was in reference to someone suggesting caffeine free coke, which is hard enough to find in the real world!

I once lugged a 2l bottle of Irn Bru to Bestival via train, hovercraft and coach with no trolley along with vodka and beer. I have no idea what I was thinking.

Good luck with caffeine free at Glasto!

I got my beer today.

Bought 60 x Fosters and 20 x Strongbow at Asda. That came to £43.88. Buying as click and collect with Asda on Topcashback (If you are a new customer) you get £10.10 back if you spent over £50, so I also got some berrocca and tipped it over the edge with a few tubes of toothpaste.

Overall it cost me £40.30. Absolute bargain if you ask me.

considering an amount to take to the fest... is this too much:

3L x red wine (box)

1L x Jameson

1L x Captain Morgan

8 x cider cans

8 x ale / lager cans

more / less? I'm always uncertain about these things!!!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
