I guess not but there are security and police around the entrances..... they are trained to do that sort of thing

Both of the above do already have their own jobs to do as well (and the Police are not answerable to the Festival anyway).

It's all a bit much to try and catch out a handful of people who've had tickets issued to them in error.

As far as I'm concerned, if you get a refund but See send you a ticket anyway, then go for it. I'd love a bit of luck like that.

Are you suggesting the festival have security around the entrances prepared to take those away who've been given a free ticket by the festival despite cancelling?

No but if for some reason you've been flagged by the festival for doing something illegal, like selling fake tickets or you're a wanted drug dealers I'm sure they would try.

I think those having tickets issued in error would just walk in without any issues so long as didn't panic or look too suspicious on entry

I've actually just bought the album on vinyl. Partly as I wanted it on RSD and didn't find it. Partly to offset Glasto Karma for not buying last year. My superstition is getting the better of me for not buying a t-shirt last year either (just forgot). Now come-on GET ME A TICKET THIS YEAR! I'M SORRY!

I'm a rational scientific person most of the time....

If the photo matches, then it wouldn't matter if they look panicked - and at least half the people going through the gates look "suspicious".

The gate staff are trained/instructed to look at only 3 things - is the ticket/wristband/passout being checked genuine, is it valid for that gate/lane, and does the photo on the ticket match the person. And as I said before - given the number of variations possible within that (there's at least 6 different ticket types and 10+ different wristbands), they've already too much to remember / think about.

Every year I do my best not to look 'suspicious' - my ticket photo is beardless, I always beg them to 'look at my eyebrows, for the love of god'... I find looking absolutely knackered helps. And I always am, the sackbarrow full of cider helps with this :)

Nevertheless there has still been no genuine explanation of what happened to the100's of refunds processed in the week leading up to the 5th may????? I was told very clearly by see that this was the case as I I said 100's ofpages ago on this forum.

as I and a few others have previously said, the festival are definitely selling tickets after the resale to people with the right connections. someone I know of got sent a "secret" link to buy a ticket by their friend who works for the festival, the link was valid for 24hrs, they had to provide their reg number and email before that.

@bennyk was able to get a ticket in a similar manner but had to do it over the phone, i believe?

Neil got one after the resale for his son (I think he had to pay for it rather than it being a freebie?)

someone else mentioned the other day about their daughter's friend being able to buy a few through a friend at SeeTickets I think?

basically GFL and SeeTickets have decided to allow their employees to sell tickets to people they know, and it's quite likely that these are returned post-May 5th deadline tickets.

Disappointing if this is what's happened. Some of this goes on for sure, but all of them?

It's not what you know, it's who you know...

I always look completely spannered by the time I've lugged a wheelbarrow with tent and 150 cans to gate A. Normally I'm sweating so profusely they give me a sympathetic look, chuckle and say 'enjoy your festival'. That's the point I know I've got to start slaloming though the crowds beyond PGA and will have the massive hill to conquer up the side of the wicket field.

    • Set times are out on the app!    Couple of clashes on the Lorde & Deftones day for me but could be a lot worse!
    • I'd love Sam Fender but yeah I reckon he's too big, rumoured for Glastonbury as well I think.   I was thinking Wolf Alice, Blossoms, Phoebe Bridgers, Brandon Flowers, Lily Allen could all be Obelisk headliner shouts but honestly I'm struggling for names a bit. Would love CMAT but I think she said she's taking some time off. Maybe Jungle could be a shout but they've moved away from a dance headliner seemingly.
    • It was always going to be the cost. stuff like this:
    • Man/Woman/Chainsaw anyone? Still 4-5 secret sets to be filled.   New album out today and Rough Trade friendly.
    • can't edit, but just to add to the above:   i get that the last bit is meant to reinforce the message that they are all horrible people and closing ranks to cover up what has happened and carry on with their lives while poor Celeste is left alone with her trauma...   i get it thematically, i just really hated the way it was on screen and i say that my ending would have made for a better movie.   🙂
