I really hope it's today. I honestly don't think I could cope with another day of this; the stress and anxiety is just too much!

I think for me it's more boredom, with bouts of high anxiety. I can only stare at a page and refresh for so long. Must...be...strong...

@Breeze - Erm... first one I did, so would have been 2004? We were newbies and didn't understand so came thursday, there was a fire nearby and they shut all the roads around Glastonbury, stationary about 2 miles away for 6 hours!

Then had to find a camping spot, in the dark, whilst it poured with rain... We were tempted to go home... Glad we didn't. This is the first year I've had to try the secret resale since, always been lucky

Ugh! I arrived Weds AM that year so missed that excitement I guess - was a nightmare setting up camp in insane winds that day I recall. That was the year of the river in Pennards (and lake at the bottom, canoes and all) if I remember rightly.

I'm sure Glasto will know it'll take place, but my take is that it's left to See to do, in whatever way way they think is best.

Ok thanks, that sounds the most reasonable method. I'll mentally blame See then for the torture

The headliners are for 3 completely demographics so I'm not surprised that they are struggling for weekend sales. Apparently they've cut back a load of the extra stuff so it's going to be little more than 2 stages this year. I think it might be 'doing a bestival'

What is doing a Bestival by the way? I know it moved to the mainland and the last time I went it was full of kids but didn't know they cut things (other than the spoken word area)

was that the fire beyond/around east campervans (was it a pile of tyres?), i remember seeing huge plumes of thick black smoke - possibly in 2005?

It was 2008, a nearby scrapyard caught fire. We were camped in Dragon, our final camping year!

2005 was the lake year, however I do remember the winds in 2004 when putting up tents, absolute nightmare!

No, that was 2005

All the stages were tiny/underproduced. I've heard a good time was had by all but one could see that they had made some huge cuts to reduce losses (I didn't go and was never planning to, this is hearsay)

Indeed it was. We were diving down in it! Seemed like a good idea at the time! Or maybe 2005?

Long time lurker here - seem to resurface around this time every year when the excitement gets too much for me!! Just want to say I love this thread, it embodies the spirit of Glasto - good luck everyone trying for secret resale tickets, I was lucky enough to get them in 2013 and I swear if I had won the lottery I wouldn't be as happy as I was that day! I am trying for friends who unfortunately missed out in the main sale and the resale - lets hope the Glasto gods are shining down on all of us! :)

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
    • I'm finding the lower line up a little impenetrable this year   Any thoughts on heavier bands a la Slift a few years ago?
    • Will be curious to see how most of those shows sell. Surprised they're playing Leeds and Manchester - much as I am with Megadeth. (Not complaining, mind you.)
