No-one got last year right so I'm not holding out much hope of finding out before. The story about Coldplay allegedly booking into a travel tavern in Yeovil or somewhere was a highlight of the forums.

I do remember the muted 'oh well, we're here now' reaction of the crowd when the Kaiser Chiefs banner dropped on the Friday morning.

Is this possibly as they know the Special Guests are a band who will attract a very big crowd?

Someone recently got in touch, claiming to have info that "AC/DC will be there this year in some capacity".

That info may or may not be true, but I think it's unlikely those old men are going to be rushing from their gig in Berlin to play a morning slot at Pilton. :P

(it's perhaps the case they're coming to have a look around, but it's more likely bull).

It's The Charlatans.

I've had (a few weeks ago) some well-sourced info that it's them playing the secret slot that I originally rejected with good reasons, but which now I cannot fault - so it's gotta be them.

Last year there was a real crush due to huge crowds, some were there early for Blondie.

This year all main stages are starting at 11am I guess to try and thin out the crowd a bit.

No, it's The Charlatans.

bit disappointing that we know who it is this early on - i enjoy the mystery, and there doesn't seem to be any other prominent TBA's or Special Guests on the lineup this year like there was last year (even if they did all turn out to be garbage). will decide on the day whether i'll go and see them, but considering i'll be seeing The Cribs afterwards i might as well

No, it's The Charlatans.

I shall have a lazy start to the day then and stay in bed :-)

Until Scottie tells me Thursday night it is B***

Is there no chance that Charlatans could be one of the Williams Green TBA's? Not sure how big of a draw they are at the moment? Although it's a thursday night slot so most would go over.

Thus leaving the friday opener free for us to speculate about once more?

somebody tweeted them asking if it was them and they replied something like 'TBA ;)', plus they already announced themselves as playing Other Friday a while back. i'd be surprised if it was anybody else

Seems to be a general dislike for The Charlatans on here.

I can understand that among those who weren't around in their peak years but I loved them back in the day and I'll probably make the effort to head over to see them.

One to Another remains one of the all-time favourite tunes from my youth, and Tellin' Stories is a cracking album

Nice one. Does me for an extra act to kick things off!

Still always over-speculate - was adamant it was someone massive last year.

    • Seems the addition of the Sun Stage area is interesting. Suspect this is the area where the Stage 4 used to be pre-2024. Looks as though they want to try create some space to keep people in amongst the arena post-headliners, rather than just crowds all descending back on the campsite entertainment at once.
    • 2000 Trees - 3 Day Tickets on Concert for Carers to buy (pair £15) sure they will not have them for long, I cant check if they are still available as it now says I have already bought tickets.
    • times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also .... Beyonce was 15 years ago
