The Fall

He seems to have a habit of marrying attractive young ladies and giving them a role in the band. Which makes him, arguably, the only man in human history to have turned a lifetime's devotion to The Fall into a succesful strategy for pulling birds.

It's bloody working whatever he's doing!

The Fall are the one band I never recommend to people I know. You have to discover them for yourselves. If you can't can't get into them by your own fruition then, quite simply, you don't deserve to be a Fall fan.

I prefer the Brix E. era, which I know a lot of 'true' fall fans disregard, but every iteration of the group provides evokes something, but not always in a positive way.

Really looking forward to seeing them again, on Peel, I reckon.

I saw them in February. Musically they were tight, loud and uncompromising.

Mr Smith however, had the air of a man who spends his mornings, aftternoons and evenings in an inner city Wetherspoons.

He came into my pub in Islington not too long ago. He was quite chipper and only had a half. I didn't talk to him cos I couldn't think of owt to say apart from to tell him we share a birthday, and I couldn't see him appreciating that fact.

6 Music Fest? I was there, stood in the middle, near the front. I'm tall and probably stick out a bit, but when he wasn't messing with the amps etc. he seemed to be continuously staring at me, with his piss-head scowl. I couldn't maintain eye-contact for fear that I was about to get glassed.

His last -epic- appearance. Not appreciated.

Loved it when he came on, complete bafflement of the people around me was great, "Who the fuck is that old bloke?" :)

Have to admit, I've never gotten into them but you have to admire the devotion he receives from the hardcore fans. I'm planning on making the effort to see them, just out of curiosity really.
