Even if they were referring to current political events, they could have at least replied to some of the confused Tweets aimed at them...

Ok we have a response! I emailed the Official Facebook page earlier asking whether the countdown was to today's political events, or to an announcement, and they gave me the following reply!

"Both points to be fair Dan. Our theme this year goes down a political path somewhat, but our announcement today has had to be put on hold, never fear, exciting times ahead"

If Shangri La announce tommorw we won't be getting anything else, and I doubt it for the rest of the week/ really.

The seperate annoucement idea is to give publicity to them, which would be over shadowed with any headliner/line up news.

I'd say next tuesday now ;)

I wonder if it's because the line up when it comes is going to have most of the acts. Not Just the interim poster we had last year? Glasto HQ said "hold off for a few days"

    • All of these were published in July of their respective year. Appreciate the festival is a little later than normal but it must surely be live in the next 48 hours? The first events start in five days! 🤣
    • Took the words out of my mouth. He never misses.   Definitely adds fuel to the fire.
    • Gavin Leigh Davis on Instagram, the Fabrizio Romano of tour leaks, says Sam Fender outdoor shows and likely festivals next year. Didn't explicitly mention Glastonbury but adds more to the rumour
    • I think a lot of you guys don't see Tate McRae as headliner material however she was originally billed to play back in 2025 and had to pull out (https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/glastonbury-2025-headliners-revealed-tickets-line-up-1235915362/). She sold out out all of her arena shows in 2025 and just brought in huge crowds at Oshega and Lollapalooza. Given that she's gearing up to release the second album it lines her up for a tour run in her same gap as she's usually over here over Glaso weekend. I wouldn't rule her out.
    • I’d expect U2 & Muse to be options too.
