I reckon it's going to be pretty incomparable to any of their previous albums. It's their first album since 1989 not to be produced by Rick Rubin and there's also reports that Elton John is going to appear on the album, which sounds like nothing they've done in the past. Josh will also be more settled in the band now and so may have found his sound, which he possibly hadn't nailed with I'm With You. Also, Nigel Godrich is mixing the album. It sounds like a complete change of approach from the previous albums and I'm intrigued to see how it turns out.

Sounds interesting. Hopefully I'll be able to look at it separately from the others, as I can't see it comparing too well. Hope I'm mistaken though

I don't know of this method of announcing has worked in their favour as usually I'd have bought a ticket by now, but seen as we can't see where the gaps are and all the placings, I don't want to buy until I know what the days are going to be like

I don't know if many people will have thought the same because tbf we read into it way more than the average consumer

I agree, me and my girlfriend have now opted to go to Glasgow for the weekend and watch the Biffy Clyro/FOB/Wolf Alice/Cage The Elephant concert as we didn't know the stage splits and wanted to make sure we saw CTE and Biffy, a big factor was so the co-headliners as we thought at the Glasgow gig Biffy are going to get a longer set than at Reading. So that's two ticket sales they've lost and it's the first time I've not been since 2006, however I obviously do not speak for everyone.

New Architects track is incredible. If Dillinger aren't headlining The Pit, I'd love to see Architects do it with DEP subbing. If they don't play this year then I definitely expect them to get a high main stage slot in 2017. I fully expect this new album to push them towards the territory BMTH entered with Sempiternal, especially with BMTH seemingly leaving a gap for something heavier to take their place.

Realistically unless the album goes huge Architects will be a mid spot, not high. They'd be 5th from the top at best in reality. But regardless Dillinger are surely headlining the pit, they're too big not to and we know they are playing the pit.

they'd have said Dillinger were Pit headliners at the same time as AA if they were, personally reckon they'resaving Pit headliner until the next announcement i.e. Sum 41, Mastodon, Clutch????

I really hope there is not an amazing pit headliner on saturday at reading, i.e no sum41, good Charlotte etc.. I'd cry if i had to choose between them and rhcp, especially when i cba with foals and AA are utter bollocks.

Sum 41 are playing at Rock en Seine on Sunday, so if they're booked it looks like they'll play Reading Friday / Saturday Leeds.

Would certainly help to save that day. Poorest by far.

I think it all depends on how the clashes work out. A RHCP / Two Door / Netsky clash would severely weaken Saturday for me, and a Biffy / The 1975 / Cage The Elephant clash would be even worse..

Welll it'd help yes, but it still wouldn't give me a better headliner to watch as it's been said that AA are heading the pit. Im fairly expecting Sum41 to headline hevy fest tbh.

I rephrase, slightly redeemed, if Weezer and Sum 41 got announced then it would be overall an okay day

The worst thing that could happy is for Weezer to get put on that day but they would improve most days tbh. Sum 41 not fussed with now I've seen.

Sum 41 playing a set similar to the one they did during the Kerrang! tour in the NME tent would be superb, but unlikely.

I think that day is alright tbh. RHCP imagine dragons (although I'm not a fan, they are pretty big now) courteeners,TDCC, EODM, Slaves as well! I quite like that day but I do understand why people may think it's the weakest day

Wrong Day. We're talking about the Foals/Disclosure day being the weakest.

Ah that makes more sense, yeah it's the weakest day but I can still see about 6 bands I want to see, plus foals playing the biggest gig they've ever done so they'll probably be incredible and redeem that day slightly. Hopefully weezer are added as well. It is lacking big names at the moment though so I take your point
