They're doing a few European festivals this year and it's been a while since they did a UK festival (to my knowledge). Seems possible if there is the space for them on the line up

i suppose it's possible. self esteem live looks fucking banging.

How come no LSP? And 1975 looks like NME, definite headline there?

I just don't see it happening, too many big Indie acts already, they want to appeal to a wider audience. If The 1975 are playing the NME (I still think they won't) then they will definitely headline.

Looking at the line up I'd say we've more or less already got the Main Stage complete. Especially with a couple self confirming they're on main stage.

i can see maybe two spots where medium sized bands would fit minus weezer so yeah i'd imagine majority of whats going to be announced will be on different stages

I just hope if they do announce Weezer they don't clash with Biffy or RHCP. Would be the worst clash possible

that would honestly be soul destroying. i don't think melvin benn would be stupid enough to do that though.

Fair, wombats were headline FR last year, anyone want to take a guess at their place this year in the line up? Would love for same position this year

not sure. they used o be pretty big but they aren't hugely relevant atm. maybe mid main or high mid on NME? you could be right though FR headliner.

I don't think there is space for them, really. Plus they did all of the European festivals around R+L last year and the only place they did their own gigs was the UK, seemingly bereft of a UK festival to do, in the days leading up to R+L. Seems much as if R+L don't want them/don't want to offer them a slot they would normally get. And they're well out of Europe by R+L anyway this year.

If they are to play, it'll be the Sat/Sun lineup and I don't personally think they can fit in there as they'd certainly play high up and it seems too full already.

Definitely won't be the same position. NME sub/third is the likely outcome, by the looks of it.

They won't play the same slot two years in a row, it'd make the festival look like they're struggling for bookings, would be either mid Main Stage or High NME at a guess

Anyone else think wombats main stage mid would be a terrible terrible booking? imo NME would be best for them (obviously behind the FR headline they did last year, which was quality)... Also, slaves, how high up? Main I'm guessing

I have no doubt The Wombats would suit the tent more. NME definitely seems more likely for them. As for Slaves I'd probably say that sub-headlining the NME is where I would put them if I was in charge, they were awesome there last year.

i wouldn't like it but i don't think it would be that bad in all honesty. Hoping slaves are early mid on main or mid NME

Bit late to the party...

Catfish won't be playing, I'm near certain on that, just cause they're everywhere else this summer and Leeds doesn't really like it's bigger acts doing that, likes to stick with exclusives

Twin Atlantic played last year and are at a load of other festivals so wouldn't expect them back since they wouldn't move up a slot either.

The Last Shadow Puppets aren't really doing many UK festivals bar Glasto so I think they're possible although idk where they'd fit in

Weezer again, I don't know if there is a slot for them but anything is possible

weezer self confirmed seemingly so they are extremely likely imo. think they'd do third down on either the saturday or sunday if vaccines are willing to play fourth down.

omf. the offspring would be incredible, didn't even think about that. unlikely but imagine.

The offspring at Leeds 11 is definitely one of the worst things I've ever witnessed. Never seen anyone look so bored while playing to 50,000 people.

i don't see why not, although its unorthodox it could work marketing wise. the headline announcements will get pretty a pretty large amount of attention so long as they're not tiny bands as its reading and leeds, one of the most famous and historic festivals in the world. however the later announcements often have smaller bands and don't get the festival much attention in comparison but having some big(ish) names in a later announcement will no doubt cause more people to pay some attention to the festival.

Huh? Isn't in R&L best interests to announce its big names first and would R&L gain in holding back an announce purely for publicity. Think about this, most of the R&L competitors have announced a large chunk of line ups already and people do have to plan these things. One of my mates is going to Download this year instead of Leeds and he said that if Weezer were playing it would have swayed him to go to Leeds but now they have lost a sale. I don't get why they'd hold back big names unless is was to help sales with another festival

So I'm thinking next announcement is one  or two more biggish names, (for Sunday), and then a load of small acts. Let's talk who the bigger names could be, I'll start off:

catfish

TLSP

Highly doubt either one will play I'm afraid

The Offspring will probably never play R&L ever again

I'm going for Moose Blood, PVRIS, Don Broco, Sum 41 and The Wonder Years to be added to the Main Stage.

If The Wonder Years and Moose Blood are both playing on the right day I may go down for the day

Probably not. Would be surprised if that has happened. Still a few smaller acts to be added

Said the same thing about Glasto which they can't even play at due to other commitments. They said they were playing all of the other English festivals. Honestly think it was just him saying they'll tour more next year.
