Hit The Deck can come back any year though, it's a DHP festival and they put on around 6 or so festivals, I think it's just a case of if the acts are there for them, they'll do it

It's been a bit weird on small one day festivals this year as festivals like Fury Fest, Pinky Swears Festival, Festivile and a load of them haven't happened simply due to their not being any headliners available.

I can see Shikari doing something considering Hevy was pretty much all they'd had announced so far but what with Hevy being a part of Count of Ten, it wouldn't surprise me to see them at a different Count Of Ten festival instead.

Only problem with Shikari is Count Of Ten have already announced all the headliners for all their festivals aside from Brownstock, which i would love if they headlined as it's only half an hour away from me, but each year the line up heads more into EDM and Hip Hop so i can't see them going there, especially as i asked the guy who runs the facebook account if there are any rock or indie acts to be announced and he said '' We've got some great indie and rock bands to announce on our Treehouse and Saloon stages! Don't you worry!'' So seems like the mainstage is completely leaving rock and indie bands behind.

Yeah, I'm not sure if they'd be willing to take lower slots at a few of their festivals, like headlining a stage opposite Noel G at Y Not would be good

Realistically if Leeds has booked up all its top slots, I can't see where Shikari would fit into this year's festival season.

Warped again, maybe?

God knows the logistics behind it, but i can agree that in my experience ive seen that more bands (especially US bands) that HTD would want to book do seem to tour the uk feb-march, then may-june (but these are gobbled up by DL and SD), then again oct-Nov. So with that in mind and especially that theres no fests during that time now that theres not been a TOC in years, it could be a good shout. If they can get it off the ground and aren't just blowing smoke to buy time.

There is Warped tour UK but looking at last years line up I think it's safe to say that Hit The Deck can provide a good alternative

But do Shikari need to be around this festival season? They already done two big UK tours with the album and a few slots last year. It might do them good infact as if they want to move up line ups they need to stop being around every year.

What campsite at Reading is the best in terms of having the least mud and flooding, and overall community?

Camped in Purple for the last three years and haven't had a major issues with mud or flooding. Securing an early bird ticket in my experience also greatly improves your chances of avoiding c***s.

Purple has been decent since 2012 for me. Green is usually muddiest, since it's closest to the arena. If avoiding mud is a must, try one of the quieter sites, with less footfall

I feel like it's gonna be later - they always seem to bring up announcements a couple weeks in advance and then release the actual day about a week in advance...

The last couple of announcements have been within a couple of days on the info it was coming.

I was also just about to post, Friday morning seems to be the most likely. Just hoping for the undercard to bring a lot more to the festival. That and Weezer. Please be Weezer.

Wouldn't get your hopes up

The April announcement tends to come with short notice though.
