Haha. Such a terribly insipid booking. I mean even getting someone like The Libertines or (bawk) Kings of Leon in would be more interesting than booking these for the 4th time in 12 Glastonbury's.

Don't get their thinking at all the only possibility in my mind is someone huge let them down (AC/DC?) and they had no one to turn to but even then, as I said, there must be loads of bands they could have got on the cheap who'd be more relevant and fresh.

If this really is their swan song then I can understand the booking

If they felt they had no one to turn to and booked coldplay then wow, there's surely lots more choices than coldplay?

I still haven't really decided how I feel about this to be honest, it's not positive.

That's the only possible way it could be justified in my eyes - if it's to be their last ever gig (Glasto geeks - has any band ever finished their career at Glastonbury before? Can't think of one off hand) but it won't be. They'd surely do a huge goodbye stadium tour as well which would have been announced by now.

I'm going all the way from Mexico (I got tickets!) and among the many acts I'd like to see Coldplay is my top band I would like to see playing Pyramid Stage in Glastonbury. I know that for some of you guys who can go there often because you're so close it might be a repetitive act, but it's not like that considering they haven't been there for 2 albums (if you include the release of the new one) and 4 years, which is enough time to consider a new return to the fest. I really hope they attend Glasto this year. They're one of the biggest band in the planet no matter what people say. :)

Nobody denies their size, but we've had 6 headliners since. 6. Out of a vast world of musicians. It's fortunate for you, of course, and will no doubt go down a treat, but it's still lazy and sad for those who have seen it all before as well as unfair on up and coming bands that Glastonbury could do with elevating to headliner level.

Welcome to the board Eduardo! You'll have a great time at Glastonbury regardless of who you see play, this place is a good resource for getting the most out of Glastonbury. If you're from Mexico then this could be a pretty once in a lifetime thing for you, hope you find some good tips and info here that will help you get the most out of it.

    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
