Daughter's new single is great. Really looking forward to the album, their debut is one of my favourite albums this decade.

Ahhhh feels like I've waited an age for this. Was worth it though, loved that!

'If You Leave' was brilliant, will be hard to top but this is a promising start.

I'm about 10 minutes into the new (ie 6 months old) East India Youth album and it's sounding fucking wonderful thus far. The first album took a while to grow on me, but it did and I love it now, it was seeing him live at Latitude this year that cemented him as something really special in my mind. He's got talent to spare and it sounds like he's just getting started.

Deafheaven's new album is insane. was worried they wouldn't be able to follow up Sunbather with something of the same quality but they definitely have (and without having to repeat themselves n'all). what a band

Heard VERY good things about it, I'll give it a whirl on the weekend!

Liking this!

I think I prefer Sweet Baboo's previous one, 'Ships'. Well worth a listen

'Morse Code for Love', 'If I died', and 'lets go swimming' are three cracking tracks

that minute long guitar solo in the middle of Baby Blue may be my favourite moment of music yet this year. truly fantastic stuff

After four listens I think I've decided I like Sunbather more - the shoegazing style they took on for that is probably why.

Still beautiful though. Right up there with the best of this year.

see, Sunbather had the better songs for me (Dream House and Sunbather) but for me (after repeated listens) i think this may just beat it. too early to say though i guess as this is still new and exciting. was expecting it to be good but not up to the standards of Sunbather so i'm so happy that it's just as brilliant

You've inspired me to put my copy of gin acquired at the gig on the turntable for the first time in a while.

Gin is a pretty good album, but really suffers from omitting 'orange juice', probably the best song they've ever done.

See that reads like you're saying it's not out.

New stanley Brinks is out....... My arse!! :-)

Cheers mate. Good luck for sunday, cocker.

Seems like your bricking it a bit much for someone who wasn't gonna go a few weeks ago.

Now, i've decided i want to go, i'm right into the idea, hence the nerves.

Posted this in  R+L forum to but try 1.5 Speed, improves it alot.

But yeah bit odd, they sounded good on a live session earlier on 6music.

Do you do that with all songs that sound shit? Speed it up until it sounds like happy hardcore? :P

Anyway, the song as it's intended (and otherwise) is frankly revolting and comparatively makes Ratchet seem quite good. I won't be giving up on the album because one of the songs they did on 6music today - Good News - was really quite good, but my expectations for the new album and the future of Bloc Party are through the floor. Judging by the comments on the video they really have shit their pants in full view of everyone.

    • Attended a gig at Piece Hall for the first time on Saturday (Opeth), the music was excellent. Just a couple of points on the organisation & the event itself. - Getting through the gates seemed to take longer than required. I was at the South gate about 30 mins before stated start time and still missed first half of Katatonia. - Coffee stall was serving cold coffee later on. - Lots of the crowd seemed to be more interested in chatting than listening to the music. Doubly annoying when sound levels for Opeth seemed quieter than Paradise Lost, is this usual for the venue due to curfew etc? Luckily there was enough room so I could move close to the front of the crowd and couldn't hear drunken chatter anymore 🙂
    • Tickets will just be sent out via email; going out next Monday 10th August apparently.
    • That's how I'd see it, either or, 3 BST rules her out.
    • Surely the chances of Madonna doing three+ nights at BST and also Glastonbury is pretty low? I know Elton did (2?) nights at BST but it seems like it’s one or the other at this point?   A shame. I think she would be absolutely brilliant - plus, unfortunately, given that she isn’t as able as she was means this could be a now or never situation?
    • All of these were published in July of their respective year. Appreciate the festival is a little later than normal but it must surely be live in the next 48 hours? The first events start in five days! 🤣
