This year we're getting some new albums from some very big acts (tastes out the window these are just the biggest acts that i can think of releasing this year... not in order).

Muse, Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, Kanye West, Florence and The Machine, Coldplay, The Libertines, Madonna, Imagine Dragons, Noel Gallagher, The Prodigy, Snoop Dogg, Faith No More, Lana Del Rey, Tame Impala, The Vaccines,

Also maybe albums from Adele, Black Sabbath, The Dead Weather, Foals, Metallica

How many of those 'massive' acts will produce albums worth waiting for though?

Thankfully some exciting artists are also releasing new music this year

Thing is, I would have been expecting that myself, but they seem to be making a conscious decision to go all out heavy at the moment. The setlists towards the end of the last tour (closing the main set at Coachella with Agitated, for instance), playing as many heavy festivals as possible, and the fact outside sources are saying it's heavy (the guy shooting the video for the lead single keeps exclaiming how heavy it is, although he also said the album would be "a game changer for humanity").

Thought that Idlewild's effort was one of the duller efforts of the year so far.

Yeah I'm really not digging it. They've gone way too down the americana route for my liking. The Sufjan track isn't doing much for me either, which is disappointing. Mind you, I prefer Age of Adz to his folky stuff, so what do I know?

nope don't believe they have! i know for a lot of people on here they're a dream Park headliner every year

Another vote for Godspeed to headline the Park.

Wolf Alice just confirmed on their facebook that they're debut LP is coming out on June 22nd - they're one of the few "nme bands" I really like, mainly because anything that sounds remotely fuzzy I find pretty awesome. Anyway, could see them high up on JP or afternoon on the other and I've seen them before but would see them again clash dependent.

Having visions of them, Owen Pallett, Will Butler and Siskiyou all appearing on the line-up separately, then doing some enormous collaborative secret set very late Sunday night after the headliners, audience in tears and all hugging each other.
