I think the reason they're around is because they're doing festivals. They could get away with doing both seeing as they're not headliners. Doubt they will end up at Glastonbury though.

I wasn't ruling out they COULD do glastonbury, but I was suggesting they are probably gonna end up at Download, and we'd be lucky to get them at glasto if i'm honest.

Yes please! Agree they'd probably suit subbing Other, maybe even 3rd down. If there's going to be another rock act high up the Other bill, a la QOTSA/Pumpkins/Pixies, I'd say them and Soundgarden are probably frontrunners and although I like Soundgarden, FNM would be a lot more interesting.

cant see it being soundgarden cos matt has said pearl jam is his priority if they tour next year ...saying that if PJ are not touring then who knows

Soundgarden have been touring with different drummers anyway so it doesn't make a difference, although i really doubt they'd play. i'd say Faith No More are more likely, and even they are unlikely

Glasto could capitalise so well if they commonly book a couple of these quite big, heavier bands every year. Although they do it a bit already, they should IMO do it a little more often. There really is quite a few who they could book.

They do seem to have a strong cross-over appeal and are well known names at the festival:

Nine Inch Nails

Tool

Soundgarden

SOAD?

Faith No More

Deftones

Alice in Chains

Bar NIN I don't know if any of those have as strong crossover appeal. I'd consider NIN a hell of a lot more likely than any of the others considering Trent doesn't seem to wanna play rock festivals anymore and wants a more mainstream audience, I think.

Tool won't play the festival again because of their control freak attitude towards live shows. SOAD won't as they won't get enough of a payday. The rest may sort of fit in but they will have two festivals climbing all over them whenever they tour.

You missed off Jane's Addiction and Motorhead, who I think would both have a decent crossover appeal.

Deftones could pull off a set at Glasto, played before and could see them going down well nowadays if they tailor the set to the occasion. Always though Mastodon would be a treat too in the JP Tent

Anyway, yes to Faith No More, really dying to see them!

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
