Rock Werchter 2015

I hope the crowd pleaser is triggerfinger

I don't know if Triggerfinger are in good terms with Rock Werchter since they have been playing during the World Cup football game Belgium-Argentina.. But I hope they'll play too, we definitely need them.

I expect Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls for tomorrow.

I think they'll release the last 12-17 acts tomorrow. Think they'll be a couple of average sized names in there as well as some Belgian/Dutch smaller names to fill the stages and a couple of small bands. Biggest hope that may be in with a chance would be FIDLAR.

EDIT: Expecting Frank Turner as said above by Tremousse

Blur won't come. RW is close to sell all its combi tickets without them. Friday will sell out too eventually. When they announced that M&S are the "final" headliner they meant for it. The thing you can hope for Friday is a dance act after M&S OR an act bigger than Ben Howard.

Correct. Don't hope for Blur. Damon Albarn also performing at Dour.

Also Foals just announced for a festival in Finland along with Pharell Williams. Really hope Foals make an appearance.

Their dates tie up perfectly with a Dour or Pukkelpop appearance though, don't think they'll come on repeat since the album won't be out in time.

in 2013 blur were the closing act after KOL

Obviously we're talking 'dance oriented closing act' here. Deadmau5 and Disclosure are still available, although I'm not sure if they'd risk to give Disclosure a main stage slot on a day that's already considered weak and risky (cause of Pharrell and M&S).

I don't see why the world cup would have the band be on bad terms with RW, since no one could predict that time slot would clash with the Belgian game. I don't see them coming on repeat anyway, quite a big slot to give to a Belgian act who didn't do anything new since last year's edition.

Probably been asked before:

- Vouchers I know are 1 per half pint, whats the food cost (typical food types?)

- Are the vouchers usable in the Hive campsite or is it euro's there for stuff? what prices to expect in the hive?

Two of us travelling from Northern Ireland, hope to bring a bit of party animality to y'all!

So Ill just try it like Gossard here did;) :

Modest Mouse (Friday & Saturday in Bravalla and Tinderbox so chances are low).

Jose Gonzalez (Norway during RW and Open'er festival after RW but is still around during all festivals including PKP).

Ryan Adams (Calling festival London on 4.7).

Get in!

I'm OK for Modest Mouse and Ryan Adams but I hope we won't get José Gonzales, because we already have too much folk bands, which are not crazy folk live bands for most of them (Angus and Julia Stone, Gavin James, James Bay..) Even if Damien Rice, Fink, Mumford and Sons, Of Monsters and Men, and Ben Howard are really good live bands. Now we need rock bands (Frank Turner, Triggerfinger, Limp Bizkit) or something more energetic like party acts (Knife Party, Deadmau5)..

The thing is I didnt state who I want the most to be at RW, but stated those who are around and actually can fit well into the blend that already in the festival. these last 15-17 act to be announce would not change the current division of acts. Sure I want to see the Strokes, FNM, Jack White and other Rockish stuff but it wont happen.

Food was pretty standard festival food (burgers, hot dogs, chips kebabs) and I think it was all basically 2 tokens a go. The best Bratwurst, in my opinion, was outside the festival on the way in from the camp sites (3 euros a pop I think). There's also a shop by the way that sells cold canned beer for an OK price (good for taking back to tent). Wasn't in the Hive last time I went but the bar in our camp site was selling 250ml beers for 2.5 euros (same as inside the festival but in cash).

Lonely the Brave and Fidlar are decent additions! Seen Lonely the Brave in King Tuts last week and they were awesome!

Much chance of BRMC? I know they're playing European festivals around the same time but I haven't actually seen if they have availability in their schedule or what the likelihood is? Would make me ridiculously happy if they were added!!

Happy with Red Fang and FIDLAR!

Already doing 2 other Belgian fests, so they're unfortunately ruled out.

I'm seriously wishing I hadn't bothered buying tickets and paying for flights. Really should have held my nerve for a Glasto resale ticket.

Red Fang and LTB aren't bad but overall line up isn't doing it for me

Do you think maybe that Glasto has got in the way of some acts playing Werchter this year?

    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
