CaledonianGonzo
I also agree that now that Malcolm's no longer in the ranks their past behaviour may be no guarantee of how things pan out this time around.
eFestivals
As massive Stones fans it might even be as simple a thought process for them as "if it's good enough for the Stones then it's good enough for us". I also agree that now that Malcolm's no longer in the ranks their past behaviour may be no guarantee of how things pan out this time around.yep - tho people are merely spouting a bunch of hopeful "maybe"'s at the end of the day. You could do the same for any band on the planet. The Beatles might reform and play Glastonbury, because they don't want to be out-done by the Stones. CaledonianGonzo
In this case, hope does indeed spring. At this stage I'd rather be optimistic about a band I'd like to see at Glastonbury than downbeat about the prospect of some bearded nu-rawk horrors. michael eavis' beard
I don't disagree with any of this as "possible". It's also possible that I'll be the next man to walk on the moon - yet nothing of that possibility means it's likely to happen. And that's what i'm getting at. There's nothing to give any real indication that AC/DC will do Glastonbury as a part of their next tour, particularly when put against the sorts of things they've preferred to do in the past. Wanting them to and then using that want as the basis to guess that they will doesn't change anything of that remote possibility from the limited info we have available to work from. That's the problem - there is very little information that is concrete. A lot of it is willing it to happen - at least it is on my part anyway! And given that vague clinging to possibilities, I hope you enjoy your walk on the moon. Grab us a rock will you?!
5co77ie
Well having waded through AC/DC forums this morning: Dates would appear to fit either British Summer Time, Download or Glastonbury.Apparently they're likely for Hellfest celebrating it's 10th year from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June 2015.http://www.byzegut.fr/2014/09/acdc-fait-construire-des-scenes-de.html There's also a teaser image: (though I think this is track listings) http://www.acdcfans.net/forum/ - suggest back in July the following dates, pointing to them being in Europe in June 2015 Jun 1 Lisbon3 Barcelona5 Paris8 Munich10 hockenhiem13 Berlin15 wells17 Prague19 Athens22 Torino24 Copenhagen26 Oslo28 StockholmJuly 3 dublin5 London7 Glasgow5th July suggests BST? CaledonianGonzo
They might even do all three - ot two of three. S'possible. Will certainly try to see them in Glasgow regardless.....
dentalplan
Wells isn't far from Pilton. There were some fake dates reported for this year though so I wouldn't really read into that too much. The main thing I thought the rumour had going for it was the Mensch thing and the 'band aren't British anymore' line but the first thing I can't find anything on the band rehiring Mensch and second is more likely to be the Mac. GlastoSimon
If those are the dates, there's no way it's happening. Whilst they'd almost definitely play on the Saturday night (27th), they're not going to sandwich Glastonbury between two Scandinavian dates. How anyone would even know the dates for next year's tour in July is beyond me, mind.
Muppetmark
If those are true then bollocks for clashing with werchter
eFestivals
How anyone would even know the dates for next year's tour in July is beyond me, mind. You'd be amazed what some folks get up to, to try and work out which dates and where the stones might be playing, for instance. Phoning the likely venues posing as tour agents, to find out what dates were available so they know the dates that are not.

Crazy stuff, and this guy has the dates for Europe/US/everywhere else in the world! IF those dates are real, then Glastonbury is out of the equation. 5co77ie
Assuming they've found out some of the dates are accurate and/or Hellfest is correct then the point I was making is that it looks like AC/DC are in Europe next June. Matt42
Playing BST and not Download / Soni or whatever I reckon this actually makes them more likely for Glastonbury
dentalplan
I think Brian actually mentioned in an interview that they'd be doing Hampden and Wembley.
brettredmayne
Was rumours in local papers about playing newcastle this year. I would think sunderland would be more likely with the bigger gig capacity though.
dentalplan
It was said that they wouldn't be doing Newcastle. In fact I'll just post the quote instead of parroting: Johnson revealed AC/DC will tour the UK next year as part of the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations. But in a blow to North East fans he suggested the tour would take in Wembley Stadium and Glasgow’s Hampden Park but miss out a Newcastle date. Johnson had always vowed the band would not return to Tyneside after AC/DC failed to sell out their Newcastle Arena show on 1996’s Ballbreaker tour. http://www.thejournal.co.uk/news/north-east-news/acdc-singer-brian-johnson-talks-7396080 Edited September 24, 2014 by dentalplan

dentalplan
If anyone wants to be in the video for their next single and can give up their whole Saturday next weekend in London then they've got a contest thing on their website. I assume it's a live performance they're doing as all their videos are aren't they?
LondonTom
I just entered Dunno if i'd actually turn up, I've entered a few of these things for various videos and never bothered if I got an invite
LondonTom
seems like a successful waste of quite a few peoples time if it's a subversive act, aimed at very very minor disruption to a few peoples lives, for no reason, then well done! if not.. why? Not really just sounds like something cool to do , and they always tend to ask for more then they need? You know like the BBC audience members, to counter act the no shows. (Its only been a few times.) Then it gets to the day and I think to myself, can I really be bothered to stand around for a few hours? LondonTom
so you're fulfilling the 'need' for there being a certain number of no-shows...? interesting Well no, they don't need the no shows obviously...just saying I am not really wasting anyones time/taking up a slot by deciding in the end not to go on the day. (I do start with the intention of going down btw.)
CaledonianGonzo
Be interesting to see if these new songs are still written by Malcolm and Angus or whether hes also retired as a songwriter. Rumours circulating that Malcolm's now in a nursing home that specialises in dementia....so...erm...I guess not. Jeezo. He's not old enough for that nonsense. No consequence on Glastonbury or anything whatsoever but I imagine that a tour announcement isn't far off. Nova Rock and Rock Am Ring announcing soon too.
