Hello Curlygirl.

I hadn't read about your family shit. I hope it gets resolved sooner than later. I'm going through some of my own at the moment. The last words I heard from my dads mouth were that I was a c**t. I angrily responded by telling him to go fuck himself. That was weeks ago - there has been no communication since.

I dislike horse racing and especially races like the National due to the number of deaths of horses.

I also dislike betting as I have seen what that addiction does to someone.

I'm fairly shocked at how many people I know placed bets for the Grand National. My reaction is that I don't go in for bull fighting, badger baiting or fix hunting. The Grand National is no different.

I really don't understand how so many people ignore horse racing the rest of the year, but make an exception for the really barbaric one, that normally results in at least one horse dying on the track.

I guess you are right. I don't go in for bull fighting, badger baiting or fix hunting either so maybe should change my ways with the Grand National. I have actually thought to myself that the fences are unecessarily and insanely high.

Without wishing to get into a massive debate on the grand national thing, I shared a house with a groom and we had a conversation about this. Her view on it is, is that the horses love it. If they didn't want to run they quite simply wouldn't. Horses are highly strung creatures and can be very obstinate. When you watch the national you will often see horses that have had unseated riders continuing on the track and completing the course.

Anyway, I'm getting back to NFR NFC and leaving the politics aside.

p.s, I wont be joining the Hot Chip dance off cos I will be at the Foo's. Looks likely i will be on my lonesome for that.

Evening all, so sorry to hear about all the crap that's been happening with families, I hope things get better for all concerned, too much going about. Mine's disappearing tomorrow till Friday, so I've been off this week on hols and will be back at work tomorrow, while Mrs CJ takes the girls off to the coast.

Yog, the Eurovision's not been the same for me, since the sand lady was on, just been down hill since then...

I'd seen the Sand Lady before and agree she's amazing. The contest remains fab for me though despite the lack of her presence. I can't wait.

I agree it will be good, just that she shone out amidst the fixed grins and polyester. I particularly enjoyed the Eastern European women last year demonstrating 'equal ops', not. Let's just say MrsCJ won't be letting me hire any blonde washerwomen any time soon.

Morning all

Not so bright here today, weatherwise and me! I've got to go to the dental hygienist this afternoon. Eek. I've never been before!

As for Morrissey, I like his music and I think he's a character. He isnt everyones cup of tea but then neither is Kylie. I havent read all of the article, tbh I found it a bit annoying so stopped. Everyone has their own opinion about everything, some people just enjoy letting others know more. I tend not to really pay attention to anyone elses opinion- Morrissey included! As I said, its the music and his presence that I love.

Anyhoo!

Happy birthday, Thurlow!

And I hope everyone who is having trouble with things gets sorted soon xx

Age and wisdom win the day.

If I were younger I would have gone out gigging last night and damn th4 consequences. But that little voice made us stay in.

Slept the best for a week and woke up felling so much better.

Hurrah

I know what you mean, sometimes you have to be sensible!

    • Personal Trainer start a UK tour on 6 Sept and have featured a times. They were kind of there last year in the form of Long Fling (a great set in the Tipi). I could see them being a secret set in the Tipi again. I don’t remember the Bollox new name for the Tipi and never will.

    • I too am always a bit blurred on what/who constitutes a legend slot but would Sting fit that bill?  Those there said his IoW slot was v good and he has enough of a songbook imo for a Sun afternoon if he uses the Police's 1st 2 albums for a fair chunk of it
