CHVRCHES

Looking forward to their set in the JP tent on Friday night - so long as they aren't high enough to clash with Arcade Fire, of course! Easily one of my favourite albums from last year. Saw them at Edinburgh Hogmanay, and then again on the UK tour - they didn't disappoint live.

Today they uploaded an almost full set (Science/Visions cut for some reason?!) from their show at The Forum in London earlier this year, shot in glorious 1080 HD. Worth watching if you are a fan or interested in seeing what they are all about:

Guessing they will play 3rd down at lowest could even play 2nd, which would start getting to close go a headline AF clash, there was a 5 minute gap between sub on JP finishing and headliner on pyramid starting last year.

Whatever time they play it's going to be busy I would think

I quite like them on record but doubt I'll see them because there will probably be someone of higher priority for me. Also, I watched abit of their Coachella set and she didn't seem to move an awful lot, didn't look like a very dynamic live show at all.

i love them on record but i don't think they come across very well live - she's still obviously incredibly nervous all the time and it shows. will probably clash with somebody, and no doubt the tent will be RAMMED for them as well, so reckon i'll be missing them. would've made more sense for them to be fourth on Other or something like that

They could do with beefing up their live band a bit, all sounds a bit weak at the moment. Maybe bring in a drummer and a extra person to handle bass/guitar so not quite so much of their show relies on playback. The vocalist just isn't a very good singer, not much you can do about that.

They're a must see for me but i'm really hoping they aren't on too late

Clashfinder has them finishing about 20 minutes into Elbow's set which would be perfect but that obviously can't be relied on yet.

And yeah i reckon they will get a huge crowd

I'm uncertain where Wild Beasts will be playing now. They were certainly offered the sub slot but nothing was nailed down for a long time it appears. The latest I've heard is that they have (or are thinking) about swapping with Chvrches so not to clash with Elbow as I think they feel they share a significant number of the same fans. This was 2nd hand info rather than the first hand info Id previously referred to but make of it what you will. It certainly does make more sense as I believe their flight to the Ukraine is leaving early on Saturday morning

They come across much better live in person than on videos. They're one of the only support acts I've ever heard where I didn't know a single song when they started and fell in love by the end, I'm now a big fan boy of the band :P

I met Martin at Warehouse Project last year but I didn't have the balls to say his dancing is awful :P

Yeah I'm pretty sure CHVRCHES are one of these bands that will ram the John Peel Stage so I suggest people who want to see them get there a band early.

And also... yes I wish they'd stop the guy from singing, a lot of CHVRCHES sound centesr around Laurens voals, as soon as the dude takes over duties the songs suddenly sound incredibly generic and placid. And jesus christ he sounds fucking awful live, and I thought his studio performance was bad.
