of course i will be there. one of the best live bands ever. yes their output has been average after their first five albums (but how many bands master even 2 genius, genre defining, albums let alone 5), but they ALWAYS deliver. very few things in live music beat the Ecstasy of Gold intro followed by a Metallica riff. shame about the Mogwai clash, but wether 1000 or 100000 at the Pyramid for this, it will be one of the best gigs Glastonbury has ever witnessed. trust me.

Never ever thought I'd see a metal band headline Glasto, I'm an old skool metal head from the 80's and though my music tastes are drastically changed and varied over the years Metallica are still one of my fav bands, but still prefer the pre black album era. I felt really old last night reminicing about the first time I saw them, I'm 43 but my head says im in my 20's, I managed to catch them on the Master of Puppets tour just before Cliff Burton was killed, 28 years ago!!!! I'm heading straight for the barrier!!

And have never waivered from within a very narrow band one bit over the past 30 years. The mandatory poses incorporating standing with arms out to side (the crucifixion), the forefinger versus small finger pose (devil hands) and of course their patented legs wide open (The Pre-Chad Kroeger).

Each to their own. I'm more into the subtle beeps and tweeks of electronica (aka Doof Doof).

I love variety at Glastonbury but Metallica headlining Saturday on the Pyramid is, for me, a mistake. Sure they could be there but headlining that stage seems like a mistep. I think it's going to be very quiet compared to other years. But hey, may be it's time to give the twelve people who like that kind of thing what they want ;)

As for me, I'll be having a blast elsewhere.

I'm at peace with them headlining but am I the only one wondering if the Eavii were left struggling for big acts this year?

I went for the full set option, but it will obviously depend on how I feel on the day. John Grant is a must, which means I may miss the start - annoying.

Heard a clip of 'Fuel' on 6music when they were talking about it and actually got goosebumps! Has the potential to be epic and since seeing their name on the poster I feel way more excited than I thought I would.
