Reading through this thread again, looking at the map, and inspecting the photos in Tort's guide, I have to say Bushy Ground appeals. It's further away then I think I'd ideally like to be, but Oxylers - my first choice - looks horrifically crowded and if it's very noisy, that's going to be a problem when I eventually decide to crash.

I really don't see my tent as somewhere I'll spend much conscious time at all, so I don't mind a slightly longer walk in the mornings and, well, very early in the mornings. I still love Oxyler's location, but squeezed in amongst loud kids who have pitched their tent on your doorstep doesn't strike me as the ideal way to spend five days.

Since 2008 have camped in Bailey's. Not too crowded always had nice neighbours. On the Wednesday will spend a little time there recovering from getting in, relaxing over first couple of beers watching everyone else arrive then its off to explore site.

After that the tent is there to sleep in and eat breakfast at. Once we leave the tent after breakfast don't return until its time to sleep. Drawstring bag with 6 tins and fleece in and off we go. Distance from main area not a problem as don't return to tent. its close to Gate D (even though from Sussex use West Car Park for this) and fact its quiet means can actually get some sleep, which being middle-aged now I need, my wife more so.

We camped in Dairy last year as we had a large group of people all arriving at different times. Managed to get about 30 of us into a decent space with the last arrivals on Friday morning! It was a bit of a trek but we didn't go back to the tent often, and it was nice and roomy.

8 times at Big Ground, it always works for us, pretty much as the previous comments have mentioned.

It's particularly easy to access the Eastern areas over the top of the kids area and Acoustic.

But, due to circumstances beyond my control it will be East campervan area this year, just hope we can get a spot close to the gates. Once I've been spoilt by this (a bed, own loo, own breakfast, minimal mud, better sleeps) it will be a challenge to get back into a small tent again.....

Park Home Ground definitely! Good people generally and quite central to most things, love it there I do!

Best thing to do really, Get through the gate and head in as far your able to carry your bag and tent in the general direction of the stage you spend most of your time at . Stop when you've had enough and can see a decent space (E.g. not to far from the loos but not on top of them and a lockup and a row or two in from the track way )

ok cool its difficult because Hitchen Hill is where my friends camp every time and it would be nice to camp near them what a dilemma !

Camped Dairy, big ground, woodsies, bushey ground (last 2 years), park home (2 years before). Favourite has been towards the bottom of park home. Good for easy access to old railway track, other and park. Last 2 years have been bushey as it's near to gates A and D, and the carrying of stuff had took it's toll.

Doesn't really matter to be honest. Just means a walk 5 minutes further at the end of each night. And when you've walked miles already it doesn't really matter. If I had my pick it would be park home, but wouldn't want to risk walking all the way there and not being able to get a spot (did that from Gate D to big ground one year!). Will

probably head that way and if it looks to be getting too busy / it's pissing down / I'm too knackered will put down in dairy or wherever we can. Not too fussed.
