I am obviously not remembering 2011 properly cause I really dont remember it being that bad. I remember wearing wellies a bit but thats about it. I'm still scarred from 2007.

I also don't remember 2011 being that bad, okay Friday night was a bit miserable and the ground was a bit muddy but that's all. I never wore wellies once, just my walking boots.

As for last year I thought the weather was great, did it rain a bit on Thursday afternoon?

Maybe its the cider! :alcoholic:

This is a superb video of 2005. Great times.

Hopefully scenes like that will never happen. Apparently when we had all the floods back early this year, the site did not flood hardly atall.

Thank you for sharing that, means I will never ever stay in a tent at a festival EVER

I fell face first in the mud by the other stage on friday night in 2011. absolutely caked myself. only the following morning did i realise that the mud had formed an ear plug of sorts in one of my ears.

Agree with the above 2011 was muddy all the way from Wednesday to Sunday morning.

If your defining shit weather/mudbath as anything equal to or worse than 2007 then your doing wrong.

Why are we talking 2011? Is a repeat looking likeky?

Got down there on the Thursday and it was a real mess, ended up coming home on the Sat morning as couldn't move with a pair of dodgy knees....that was my last one; surely it'll be different this way?

It's looking alot better. 2011s downfall was lots of rain in the set up, site was fucked before 130000 walked on it.

This year, even if we get lot of rain, it will take a long time for it to get real bad. Seeing as no rain is forcast till atleast Wedneaday/ Thursday, it's should, no will be fine

Yes, yes and yes. 2011 was not much fun at all. The mud hung around forever.

It'd been horrendous on the build up to 2011, despite it being dry for monday/tuesday before the festival the place was already cutting up from setting the site up.. when it rained at 10am on the Wednesday it was just about the worst possible outcome.

Latest from JackOne!

Some of you have been very kind to send some site photos and conditions are looking good, however if the models are correct for the next 6 days, there will be a big change.

I know some of you will be off to the festival for the next few days, so have a good one and remember to keep in touch via the Net Weather twitter account which will publish a link to all new blog posts.

Enough padding by me and on for with the forecast, which will again do the forecast for each day of the forecast.

Overview
Tuesday is looking settled and dry, with some decent sunny spells.

Wednesday 25 June
High Pressure will change to low pressure over the UK, with NW winds expected over Glastonbury, pressure is expected to be around 1030-1032mb, Unfortunately this means almost guaranteed rain.

Thursday 26 June

Low Pressure continues to dominate, with winds West to NW over Glastonbury, pressure again expected to be around 1028-1030mb. A weather front if still forecast to be embedded with the Low Pressure. At this stage the continuing expectation for the heaviest of the rain is to hit the festival site Temps are expected to be around 19-20c.

Friday 27 June

Slight variances in the models at this point, but the general theme is for Low Pressure to be slightly further out west with winds West to North West, and for the pattern to be slightly flatter than on Thursday, with pressure around 1025-1030mb. Friday is now expected to be extremely wet according to the models, but with quite a bit of uncertainty about the cloud amount.

Saturday 28 June

The general pattern of Low Pressure to our South West is agreed. Pressure for the Glastonbury area between models ranges from 1023-1028mb, and some have the centre of the High quite close to the UK, others halfway to the Azores. It does seem likely to be again extremely wet and temps are likely to be low to mid 20s. Some sunny spells seem likely but some uncertainty at this stage.

Sunday 29 June

There seems even less agreement on Sunday's weather, the general theme of Low Pressure being nearby is agreed, beyond that no real agreement, with pressure forecast between 1022-1032mb and that is not even including the ensembles. Winds are likely to be from a West to South West direction and with 850Hpa temps around 10c, it not likely to be cold. So in summary looking wet, warm with temps low-mid 20s, and the chance of some sunshine.

Overall

The total rainfall charts are very consistent with rainfall, both runs go for around 73mm of rainfall in the next 9 days.

    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
