But...but...the dust. The awful, awful dust of 2010. Don't you remember? After 5 days of it and you got home and your trainmers were a bit dusty?

Heartbreaking, impossible times.

Indeed! I actually ended up in the medical tent in 2010, because I couldn't cool down during a mammoth Sunday hangover. I'd still take that weather again!

I don't remember any dust! Not sure why, perhaps I was high on sun!

A light breeze blew some dust into my eyes at one point making them water. Being dehydrated from the relentless heat, I so much wanted to lick the tears rolling down my cheeks but feared to in case the salty moisture loaded with moist, red crumb caused my parched throat to spasm involuntarily.

We all clung on to the prospect of cooling nightfall as I remember.

Oh - I remember it distinctly. Every evening - after gambolling freely and easily about the site all day - the soles of my shoes bore a distinctly dusty residue.

Presumably you were distracted by the delicate sunsets, the beautiful butterflies flitting by and the play of the sunlight on the distant hills.

I don't know how we survived.

Was the smell of faeces especially bad in the heat of 2010 or is it always like that? It smelt strongly wherever you went.

It's the heat makes it worse, but it was far from wherever you will go

No breeze that year to move it on either

This! The wheel is still turning, the ball is still rolling, the deck isn't through yet....

It's looking good though!

My car was covered in dust. I concidered washing it when I got home but wanted to cling to the memories of the lazy, hazy days of Glastonbury 2010. I liked to look out my window and think to myself "That's Glastonbury dust".

Then it rained and I was sad.

True story.

2 hours ago I checked this thread and it was all doom and gloom, now its all happiness.

This thread has more ups and downs than the world yo-yo championships.

The mood on this weather thread in relation to the forecasting of the weather, whether you like it or not, is as changeable as...............some large changeable phenomenon

This was the Met Office forecast for 16 June in 2010, posted on the 2010 weather thread here:

UK Outlook for Monday 21 Jun 2010 to Wednesday 30 Jun 2010:

Most areas of the UK should remain largely dry throughout next week with some decent sunny periods at times. Northern and northwestern areas are likely to be cloudiest and are more likely to see occasional rain, although there will be plenty of dry and bright weather too. Although most other places will be mainly dry, isolated light showers may develop at times. Temperatures should be near normal throughout much of the period, and it should feel pleasantly warm in any prolonged periods of sunshine, but will feel cooler on the coasts. Indications are that there these mainly dry conditions will continue to the end of June, with temperatures remaining close to average for the time of year in most places.

It's not that far off what we're getting at the moment, though there were more optimistic predictions around too by that point.

Also this was the day the French pic = bad weather and German pic = good weather idea was suggested to simplify the forecasts for those without the knowledge - funny, it seems like that went on a lot longer than a week....:)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
