she'd pull a massive crowd if she played, say, mid-day on Other. on West Holts against whoever's on Pyramid and Other (and the rest)? can't imagine her crowd would be that big. maybe her new album release will change it but the initial hype surrounding her seems to have long gone now. no doubt there'll be interest in her, but headlining West Holts just seems an odd placing of her to me

Twitter is already starting to come alive with it now so give it a few hours for it to gather momentum and i can see them saying something.

It'll appease those who are expecting some kind of announement today...

what's it coming alive with tho? That efests has her as TBC, or the actual source for that? I don't think Glasto has ever reacted to efests having something as a TBC.

I'm by no means a barometer of "cool" so might be missing the mark here greatly, but isn't she a one hit wonder? Everyone I know who bought here album off the back of "Video Games" (which I did love by the way) agreed that it was weak - I know one person who just gave the CD away because they felt it was weak.

Again, given my lack of cool it's probably best to assume the opposite of what I say, therefore it'll be rammed.

Never rated Video Games as highly as everyone else. I bought the album off the back of Blue Jeans, and thought it was great - still listen to it often. To be honest I love her voice/style of singing more than anything.

I think West Holts is a good choice. She had an old school vibe, full backing band, and a stage setup that's a bit Great Gatsby-esque. Daytime on Pyramid/other might kill the mood of her music.

I think I also struggle a bit with her story, the whole Lizzie Grant transformation left me feeling a little bit manipulated if I'm honest. I know the music industry does a lot of manipulating, but the contrived nature of the Lizzie to Lana thing made me a bit distrusting of the whole package.

Regardless, it's a great opportunity for her and I'm sure it'll be packed.

What a let down that is, how depressing.

I'm in need of resale ticket for this year, my group have all said they aren't interested unless the lineup is amazing like last year (curse of the Stones I guess) so looks like I'm not going this year at this rate!

I was quite apathetic towards Lana Del Rey until she started doing all that modelling for H&M. Very popular amongst people my age though, will certianly draw a (large sized) younger crowd to WH.

Seems an odd booking as a headliner for the WH stage, but ah well. Metallica, Disclosure, Lana Del Rey - all looking a bit shit for me so far. Out of those Metallica win, but I'm hoping John Grant turns up to headline Park on Saturday night.

    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
    • Feel Stevie Wonder should be in the conversation as a random Michael Eavis headliner ala Neil Young last year.... If we did get a M.E pick for one of the headliner slots, who else would be in the mix do we think? Cher? Rolling Stones? Nicks/Fleetwood?
