The Woodland Trust have now posed objections to T's move to Strathallan. At first I thought all of this stuff was just a way of getting the move more publicity but this latest intervention seems quite serious actually. If The Woodland Trust are against the move (due to danger to wildlife and irreversible damage to woodland) then this could pose serious problems.

Can you imagine how much it would cost DF concerts if it was cancelled, an obscene amount! Even if it was cancelled for one year only it would take a lot of money to get t back and running the year after with all of the money lost in the previous year. Very much doubt it will be cancelled

It would just remain at Balado for another year if they don't get the go ahead for Strathallan, that will be the Plan B.

But am 99% sure it will go ahead at the new site, though maybe not :)

You can be sure he'll have had word of how the council will go before the move was even announced.

I think you're correct but when serious objections get submitted they can't get swept under the carpet. Planning can't be pushed through without due process.

Still think they'll get go ahead tho

I've sat thru plenty of (English) licence hearings, I know how they go.

The objections have to be considered, and then a judgement made on whether those objections should stop the event.

So the objections have to get heard, but everything of those objections can still be 100% swept under the carpet. The decision can only ever be about a 'personal judgement' made by those who are considering the licence application.

    • Set times are out on the app!    Couple of clashes on the Lorde & Deftones day for me but could be a lot worse!
    • I'd love Sam Fender but yeah I reckon he's too big, rumoured for Glastonbury as well I think.   I was thinking Wolf Alice, Blossoms, Phoebe Bridgers, Brandon Flowers, Lily Allen could all be Obelisk headliner shouts but honestly I'm struggling for names a bit. Would love CMAT but I think she said she's taking some time off. Maybe Jungle could be a shout but they've moved away from a dance headliner seemingly.
    • It was always going to be the cost. stuff like this:
    • Man/Woman/Chainsaw anyone? Still 4-5 secret sets to be filled.   New album out today and Rough Trade friendly.
    • can't edit, but just to add to the above:   i get that the last bit is meant to reinforce the message that they are all horrible people and closing ranks to cover up what has happened and carry on with their lives while poor Celeste is left alone with her trauma...   i get it thematically, i just really hated the way it was on screen and i say that my ending would have made for a better movie.   🙂
